The Sunday Picture Show... (2-25-2018) . . . OLD Show look at the DATE...

Great show as usual everyone.

Here is a stag 927 from the old custom shop made with 440C steel not from a banana. It will however cut banana 184's into little pieces without any hesitation.

Ok W mutt,

Tell me about this knife, where did you find it. I can't find this in any Buck issued catalog or price list from 2016, 2017, or 2018. It shows a 2017 Buck date code and is made in China. Is it a real Buck knife or a fake. The Buck 311 is a trapper version slip knife, if it is a special order knife it will not be in their catalogs. I like the stepped down Koji look on the handle, it is very unique and appealing to my eye.

Buck has reused model numbers, as in this year (2018) the model number 907 was reused as the Expert Hunter. Back in 1988 it was used for the 907 HD 85th Bowie, and the in 1989 another version of the HD 85th Bowie with an Ivory handle. Just went to the BCCI Catalog & Price List section and went over the old custom shop price lists and found the Expert Hunter 907 first listed for sale in 1986 and on each price list after that until it closed. So the 907 Expert Hunter and the 907 Harley Davidson 85th Anniversary Bowie used the same model numbers in 1988 and 1989 (very interesting).

Holy toledo!

I created that name SlimLine for the knives that I refashioned from several of my Bucks and then I read the term "Slimline" in your letter from Buck.

What should I take from this? Great minds think alike? LOL

sportingspecialist - In the center of the far right of this 1st picture you will see 2 927's. The one pictured above in my last post and one with brass guard.

They also did a reissue of the 927 slimline skinner a few years ago which is in the 2nd picture down.

The 927 Slimline Skinner was an original Leroy Remer design.

Got all my metal frame Buck lockbacks out for a group shot (well, one of each model number). Hard to get the light right, but it's not hard to like these knives. Only the 500 and the 503 remain NIB, the rest have been carried and used, most of them recently (except the 505 - too small for me). OH

I really like the Slimline series of knives.I wish I was collecting Buck knives during that time period.

I guess I'll have to retire to my shop and fire up the old time machine.LOL.
