This herd of elk is local to my area. They would show up in a field about once every year or two. Last year they started coming one road over closer to my place into another couple fields which I seen them in
a couple times a couple years ago. Over the last few months they have been spending more time in another large field. They are in this field right now and have been in the same field now for about 3 weeks
every day. Their was a 5 point bull in the bunch a few months ago but he isn't there anymore. Someone got him this past hunting season. There are still a couple spikes in the bunch.
Very cool to drive by and see them everyday. That is the our local valcano Mt. St. Helens in the background.

Here’s one you don’t see very often as most were made for one guy. 1 of about 5 tobacco knives made.

Awesome knife, Joe Hauser I believe told me they were rope knives. I have one with gold etching on the blade. It has two sailing ships on the blade with antique ivory Micarta. I believe James has one too. Yours is different. Nice handle. Wish Buck would make these again. I always thought it was a tobacco knife. It's a cool one for sure.

Mighty fine place to live. I hope to make it there this summer for the first time in 39 years. I was there when MSH first went off.

Great show everyone...I can't play today though.

sog Bowie buck? whats the story behind that one? thanks much.....

As I understand it...
This pattern was made by Buck for Browning's Vietnam War commemorative series. There were 1,975 of those made according to their advertising.

In 2011, Buck made 30 of these knives for sale to employees. 10 were cherry dymalux, 10 stag, and 10 black phenolic. All had the same white bone, micarta spacers, brass guard, and nickel silver pommel.

Perhaps someone with a little more knowledge can chime in, but I think that's accurate.

Your information is accurate Greg. I will post a picture of mine later today as well as the COA.

As you know, the stamp on yours is different than on mine. Please post a closer picture of your tang stamp.
