The Sunday Picture Show... (3-30-2014)

Okay, how about a cup of 560s and a 186... Oregon don't tell your sweet wife I did this to the cup she gave me... LOL

It's your fault and DC's...   ...

The other Buck Caping knife. The model 474. This is an Alaskan Guide Series knife done for Cabela's. It's a beautiful and unique knife and must have been an exclusive for Cabela's as this is the only example of this 474 pattern being used that I know of. A rosewood handle and a nice glossy black titanium nitride coated blade in S30V steel and as found on all knives in the Alaskan Guide Series. No model number or date code is imprinted on the blade. I found this knife listed in the 2008 special projects list with a build quantity of 1,000. I find it hard to believe that they built 1,000 of these as this is the only one I have ever seen. It's a tiny knife, just like its 475 Mini Mentor sibling. Too small for my big hands. What differs it from the Mini Mentor is the Choil/Tang area which is formed for a chocked up hold. A related knife is the 477 Caping Knife with a guthook. The last picture shows a 475 Mini Mentor, a 474 Caping knife, and a 477 Caping knife.

Here is this mornings $10 flea market find. A Buck titanium 560 in need of a second life.
The blade is a mess but the handle doesn't have a scratch on it. I think I'll make it a user as I've already got one NIB in the collection. Wonder if Buck will put a 50th blade in it for me....

ITE, never fear my lovely wife Cindy because she has a kind heart. How else could she tolerate someone like me. However, I say firing squad at sunrise for you! Just kidding.

Here's a CUP O BUCK for your amusement (How can you blame me for what is clearly clean-shaven DC's departures from the norm? Who me? Uh uh. Whatever you think I did I didn't do. Nope): :)

Every time I see a Ram's Horn Buck knife I get motivated to either hunt and peck for one or order one from the custom shop. Stunning folder new guy. Thank you for the treat. Very nice of you.

Good Sunday morning everyone!!

Thanks Armand for getting us started with another Sunday Picture Show.:thumbup::thumbup:
Nice little 525? also.

Chris….you and oregon. You guys keep things on the lighter side. :)

This week I had a huge surprise when I was checking out some Buck knives.
I found a Buck knife that I didn't know existed!!
I love the 1980's wood handled fillet knives Buck made and were mostly sold through BPS.
Here are the three I had. (the middle one I've had and used since 1984. It's hard to see the BPS stamp because it's faded over the years with use, but it's there if you look close)

Like I said, I was looking at some Buck knives and I ran across a BPS wood handled 127!!
I knew they made the 122 and 123 with wood handles, but had never seen or heard of a Buck 127 wood handled fillet knife before. I knew they came with other handle materials, but not wood.
Well, I have one now!!!:)

It was a good week!!

Congratulations on the awesome find!
I had to quote with all the photos for such a good score :)

This is a great SPS. I cannot begin to tell you kind people how muuch I enjoy it. I got a good laugh out of the cups, bottles etc. but I really missed some of the wildlife shots you guys come up with. Please don't change a thing. Armand I hope you never tire of starting the SPS. I have to agree with Haebbie it is the GSOE! Thank you one and all.

Badws6, now that's the 3rd different sheath that came with the V52 429OD Selector I've seen...
Did you get any paper work with it... If so, I would like to see what came with yours... If you have
the time... :)

Good picture of a nice Selector... Thanks for sharing on the SPS...:thumbup::thumbup:

I will dig out the box I believe there was some paperwork ...I will post the info soon

Bob

Thanks ITE and imafritz! Great thread, all :)
I'll definitely be back for the next SPS

Dang, and just when I thought I had em all...!!!!

I thought I did too until I saw the 127 with wood handle and did a double take.
I usually check out all the wood handled Buck fillet knives I see and this one was a first for me.
Didn't know they existed.
It must be worth thousands!!! :)

If there was a 127...it reopens the possibility of a 125.....

Thanks again for Sharing part of your collection on the SPS... ITE ...:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
