April has been a good month for Bucks so far as I also received my 830 Marksman and 110 Federal. Very pleased with both of these new Bucks.

The Commemorative Buck 110 is finally showing up in some of the chain stores around here; bought one this week - the lock up of the blade and the fit and finish of all the parts has returned to the quality of the glory days - GOOD JOB BUCK! OH

Armand, I went out turkey hunting on Saturday morning (our opening day) - saw plenty of birds well out into the field - but nothing as close as your sister has - there is always Monday. This Buck 112 has become my hunting companion - short and easy to carry, but substantial in the woods. All the little black specks are turkeys (five Tom's displaying at one time - you can't see them all in the picture, nine hens and three Jake's running around). OH

I missed last week's SPS because I was at the Shenandoah Valley Knife Show, then went for a bicycle ride in the area the rest of the week…but I'm back home now and will post the knives I acquired at the show.
(Oh yeah…thanks for getting another SPS up and running Armand) :)

I had a really great time at the show.
A big congratulations to Brent for his award winning display and to Vicky for her award winning display and to Charlie for tying the knot. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Looking like a nice start to this show.

Here is the first knife that I picked up last weekend at the Shenandoah Valley Knife Show that I'll share today…a 1986 Bronco stag 701.

The second knife I picked up at the Shenandoah Valley Knife Show last weekend is this sweet little stag 309 from 1988.

I was walking by one table at the show and overheard someone asking if the guy had any Buck knives.
He thought for a minute and said that he might in a box under the table.
He brought out a few, but this pre 1986 124 Frontiersman caught my eye.
When the guy set it back down, I picked it up and bought it. :)

I also picked up the two Federals at the show that I had ordered back in December.
So far all I've heard has been good things about these.
I wasn't as impressed and was actually kind of bummed out about them.
Mine looked great and I really like what Buck did with these….so much so that I am thinking of adding one to my EDC pile of knives.
The thing I didn't like was there was no walk and talk that's normal to the 110. Mine had to be pushed to close the blade on both of them. :thumbdn::thumbdn:
I did oil up the blades and one is working better, but the other one still requires me to manually push the blade to the closed position.
It is so tight that the blade stays open in any position I leave it.
Like I said, I really like the materials and design work Buck put into these, but when you spend that much money on a knife, it should work properly.
I have over a dozen other 50th anniversary 110's and they all work beautifully.
Okay, that was just sharing my thoughts on the two Federals I got.
Here they are;

Oh yeah…I also picked up a few more of these from the BCCI booth at the show….

One more knife to share today, but not one from the show in Virginia.
This one I had coming to me before I left for the Shenandoah Valley Knife Show and it arrived yesterday.
It came from British Columbia and was made by Jerad.
I was pleased to see the 110 50th anniversary blade.
Everything else about the knife was hand made by one of our forum members/knife builders here…."JAG".
It is a liner lock 110 with carbon fiber and titanium handles.
I have another knife Jerad made and have really enjoyed carrying the 110 style knife with a pocket clip.
This one weighs in at 3.4 ounces.

For comparison to the thickness of a Buck 112;

Last week I found two gold nuggets in Austria and Germany. A burgundy and a (european) white micarta 124. both are in good condition, the white one has beed ground. I think about selling them. If there is anybody interested to buy tell it to me and I would open a thread in the Buck for sale forum. But have a look, here's the pic'

Great show going on this Sunday everyone. Looks like some nice finds this last week by quite a few of you guys. WOW, I need to get out more often.

Here is one I recently picked up for a great deal on a hard to find knife. This knife was made and stamped by JK which I believe is John Knapp. It was made in 1986 in the Buck Custom Shop. It is a model 901 Confederate D-Guard Bowie with desert Ironwood handles held on by 4 brass pins, brass guard, pommel, & D-Guard. The knife is a massive 16" long with a mirror polished blade of 425-M steel stamped "BUCK CUSTOM US" and the serial number 0113. The blade is also engraved "D GUARD BOWIE CSA 1861 1865" in a confederate pattern. It comes with a brown hand tooled leather sheath, signed COA by Chuck Buck and a nice display case.
