The Sunday Picture Show... (5-18-2014)

My humble collection. The 501 and 112 are still favorites, and the 482 is the newest a little over a week old.

thats a very nice gaggle or clutch of knives you got there Pete....Nice collection.

I like how you lead off with the 112 an ended with the 501 and sandwiched the synthetics in between.

Thanks guys! Yeah; I removed the thumb studs which was more of a pain then I thought it would be! With those studs I can't get my sharpening angle I prefer and to me they just don't belong on there. The 482 is my beater knife for when I'm mountain biking etc. so if it gets lost it'll be easier to deal with. It's a really light weight knife and the FRN is well done, and another plus for me it has a slightly thinner blade then the 112s! I really like Buck's 420HC! You'll really like the green Eco-lite DesertChris you should get one! Green is my second favorite color but funny enough I'm partial to the red one.

Wow what a fantastic show of Buck knives everyone has to share this week. Nice pictures and nice knives.

Thanks again Armand for bringing us this great opportunity for everyone to show their Bucks and tell their stories. The stories are always very interesting and great to hear.

This week I have a group of small Buck folders which I ended up when I purchased a collection from a retired Buck employee a couple years ago.

Great picture show so far and still plenty of time for more to be added.

Oregon, Great knife and absolutely fantastic wildlife pictures as usual.

Yesterday I got this surprise knife in the mail from Buck Knives. While at the 25th Anniversary event in Post Falls this past Summer. Marilee Houser (Joe's Wife) talked me into giving her a special item I had that had sentimental value to her and her family in exchange for a knife from Joe Houser. It was the knife I received yesterday. A vintage 2 line inverted 120 that has been factory restored with African Bubinga wood handles. It will be a great addition to my collection. Thank you Buck Knives and Joe Houser.

Hi Armand,

Here is another photo for this weeks SPS. I just got this one in the mail this week, I can't for the life of me understand why folks think it's ok to ship a folding knife with the blade open!!!!!

Now the velour in the display has been shredded and the knife blade stuck in the wooden display, lifting a chip! I thought this would be a good place to post this as food for thought. When you ship a folding knife close the blade and make darn sure the knife can't move around in the display or package them separately. I have had to many knives shipped to me that were allowed to move around in the display case causing damage, one such knife came from one of our big time Buck knife dealers and the knife broke the unique display case by breaking out the plastic side of the case. Another had the blade break out the plastic side of a display case and the blade was sticking out the side of the box when it was delivered!

Now the collectors knife in the above photo is not worth what I paid for it as the original packaging is now longer as new!

JB, that really sucks for sure... What kind of handles does it have... Is there etching on them...

You should see the way a blade came in the mail to me the other day... :thumbdn:

Thanks for sharing on the SPS... ITE
