The Sunday Picture Show... (6-1-2014)

gedlicks (James), boy you have some beautiful Buck knives...:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for sharing your collection with us on the SPS... ITE ... :)

Here's a sweet sweet 112 that's belongs to my sons wife... I've been trying to get it from her with no luck... :( ...
I can't blame her... :)

112...

:)

Here is a 301 First Version that is sort of unusual. It was repaired by Buck and Joe Houser says it is one of about half a dozen with a repair job using through rivets. It wasn't long before Buck decided that type of repair was too costly and gave a fragile knife. After that they simply replaced the knife with a new version. Thanks Matt.

Knives: 830 vs puff ball, vintage burgundy 422s and a 424.

Wildlife: Young Bald Eagle workin it while parents ascend sky via thermal air current within its range of vision, plus other swamp denizens seen today nearby this neck of the woods.

Hi Chris,

In 2007 Buck issued this Mokume bolstered 271 with Graffe bone scales LE, best way to describe mokume is a brass & alloy mix looking kind of like a damascus steel in appearance. It's hard to take a good photo of the stuff to really show it off.

Now the next one is one of the coated Dorado's from BP that I changed the scales to after market Torquoise. The Scales were made by an old forum member, I thought the colors go well together.

Ah Ha!
I had seen the mokume/giraffe ones, and that one looks particulary nice.
The turquoise one had me wondering big time.
That turquoise definately looks awesome :)
I have been contemplating modifying the scales on one of my Dorados, to put in slots for a SAK toothpick and tweezers.

Great Buck Knives picture show this weekend with quite a few Dorado's so I thought I would add 1 more.

This Alpha Dorado folder is customized by Wild Bill Cody (WBC) with stag handle scales with a skull cutout and a 3 metal bolster of brass, nickel silver, and copper. The blade is mirror polished 154-CM with thumbstud.

In the same series was the 406 Kalinga and the 970 Dagger.

Can anyone guess what kind of fur that is that I have the knife on?

Every time i look in these threads it makes my meager boring Buck knife collection makes it feel even more meager as i don't have any rare knives yet

I think we all would agree that there is no such thing as a meager or boring Buck Knife. They all deserve their stardom on this forum and in particular this thread. We would love to see all and everyone's Buck Knives. Rarity is not a factor at all.

Please everyone post your Buck knives for all to enjoy, and be proud of them.

James, well put... all buck knives are beautiful...

In their own way... ITE ...

Absolutely if it's a Buck you should be proud! A few weeks ago I lost my Buck Lux, so I started carrying my Marksman, well I went to grab a clean pair of jeans and guess what was in the Pocket..... My Buck Lux!!!!!! It felt like Christmas! She went through the washer and dryer! I took her apart and oiled her back up, good as new! And really clean!!!

And after her rebuild!

My guess at the fur is Coyote or Rabit

300, is your 811 serrated? I see that is still in the blister pack but if you put a light on the blade can you see serration(s)?

If serrated the you could probably see a partial scallop, at least. If the blade is plain then, well, no scallop(s).

I've never seen a 811 with serrations. I've seen the advertisement, by Buck, showing a serrated 811 but never in the flesh.

Thank you for posting your group.

Update: If the model number, on the blister pack, is followed by "NI" then is should be serrated. However, if the model number trails BK then plain edged. See this picture for the skinny/variants on the 811, 812 and 813 series:
