Thanks for the response. Looks like you found the source of where I came up with the 900 which was the number I always kinda went with. Mandrell was quoting 500 in his earliest posts citing correspondence with Taylor. /Roger
 
Well, guess I will stick my foot in the water. I have heard several things on these. One was that they came in paper sleeves not boxes, unmarked on sleeve. And they were made in 301 and 311. And lastly some of the first ones did not have the little circle around a R the means registered trademark. Can provide a photo of the pair if required, its here back in history somewhere. Nothing in writing on numbers made but am thinking maybe was five hundred each to make up the 1,000. 300Bucks

I'll just go ahead with photo as it was in easy spot.
