The Sunday Picture Show... (7-20-2014)

Now these could be ordered with a wood plaque. I have one of these wood plaque's do any of the current Colt 124 owners have one also? Maybe I'll dig it out and take some photo's of it one day

Mine came naked without box or plaque.
Did the copyright violation also apply to the Colt 110 or the Sterling 525?

One last parting shot for the show. I've posted this one before.

I don't know all the details Roger, But the 110's and 500's were sold in the Colt dealer catalogs. Here is another tidbit of Colt/Buck history. Buck made some 124 samples (4) with Sam Colt's face in gold and Ivory scales. These were given to Colt's executives as gifts while Buck was trying to get Colt to place some knife orders. The executives said some not so nice things about them putting Sam Colts likeness on the knife as that was not the Colt company image. Anyway, at least one of those knives is in the collection of fellow forum member EEE. I hope to find one of the other three knives one day;).

What kind of wood is that, Stumps? I have a feeling that grain is really gonna pop when you are done. I've been plotting to do some spalted pecan. I made some scales for a straight razor that were beautiful and I think I need to put some one a 110. ;)

That's not my project. It was referencing jamestap's photos posted before mine. Maybe he'll chime in on the type of wood.

Seeing John's beautiful 124's reminded me I forgot my Klinkhammer. How could I forget my Klinkhammer?? I really like this knife!

If you're asking about the the 112, it's mesquite.

Afraid I screwed up one of my blanks, but I've got plenty more.
Besides, that's is exactly why I started with free wood. I'd hate to mess up an expensive piece of stag.

Yeah once I finish and give it a first coat of witches brew, that grain should pop.

How do you make scales? I'd love to learn.
