The Sunday Picture Show... (7-31-2011)

EEE, wow what a collection!! Love to look at the 124's, only look as I have none, yet.

Coyote, your work on the sheath is very good. Need to try to make one or two someday.

Tough act to follow as always. Here's my contribution this week. I like sets and one I've been working on lately is the 3-line, blade up, 2+2 spacer 100 series knives. Circa 1973 - 1980. I've got 6 of them so far. Displayed L-R are 116,102,105,103,121, and 118. The 103 and 116 came as part of a 117 twin set. The 119 and 120 remain to be found.

Don't post much in the Buck forum, however I do tune into the "Show" every Sunday to enjoy the pics. Good show this week guys

Jb, those 500s and the 426 are great. The carvings shown with the Alaska blade are very interesting as well. What are they made from? Thanks for your kind words concerning my sheath, and I will make one concession. I’ve made a couple of sheaths before, just not from leather. I’ll post a pic of the evidence. Edbeau, you should definitely try your hand at leatherbending, but I have a sinking suspicion that it may soon become an addiction for me. Beware! BG42Edge, I agree that the Ducks Unlimited blade is a definite keeper. Sitflyer, it is good to hear that someone is taking in neglected Bucks and giving them a good home. Keep up the good work. They truly look like new. Bob, those are some great combos. The single six and the 124 look like they were made for each other (I wonder who wears the pants in that relationship, My money is on the 124). Heath, I love your attention to detail. The handle on that 121 just flows into the guard. Very nice. Telcontar, those stockman knives are classic. Great pair. DeSotoSky, great collection! I hope the remaining pieces soon make their way into it.

Warning! Non-Buck blades displayed below! At the risk of tainting the thread I’m showing my prior sheaths. Any guesses on what the Black one is made of?

And here are a few Bucks to (hopefully) keep me from being banned from the forum.

I know there are more Buck pictures out there. Don’t keep them to yourselves!

I found these today at local auction. I paid $150 for whole lot, only one not unused 3 dot 110.

Hi gladiator -

Nice pickup~!!

Thanks for the pictures.

What is the 110 with the lighter colored wood?

best regards -

mqqn

It is 2003 with the Indian motorcycle logo engraved in scale and on sheath. Trying to research if it is factory or custom. Any help would be apperciated. Thank you!

Went on a search mission for my son's wedding ring after he and his four wheeler plummeted off a very steep 30' ledge into the White River. Took my custom 110 along. Did not find the ring, but I think I found a good spot to fish! Great show today!

Hi Tony,

I hope your son is ok! You need to take a metal detector out there, is it possible it went into the river? Scuba gear and a water proof detector will fill the bill for that next step.

Hi ITE -

Here are the specs on the Sirus -
Specifications:
Blade: 3.25"
Overall: 7.75"
Blade Steel: 420HC
Length Closed: 4 1/2" (11.4 cm)
Blade Length: 3 1/4" (8.3 cm)
Blade Shape: Drop point
Knife Type: Folding, Pocketknife
Weight: 3.9 oz. (111 g.)

These are assisted opening, and they have a unique safety lock system. The Sirus has a very beefy blade and they are well made.

Buck had these as web specials a couple of years ago, so I picked up a few and gave them as Christmas gifts - my son got one and he really loves the knife - I will have to get a picture of his now, he has really put it through the ringer!

Hi CP,

They are carved into deer antler. A fellow by the name of Neil Fehr made them, he is in Canada. He makes some very cool stuff his handle is wildcarver, you can some times see his stuff floating in the bay;). I can tell the light colored sheath is wood, is the dark sheath also wood? What type of wood are they?

I missed last Sunday's show and thought I would make it up today.

Hi Evil Eye Earl -

You surely did a find job!! Thanks for the beautiful pictures.

best regards -

JB- Thanks for the heads up on Neil Fehr. I'll have to make his work one of my regular bay searches.

The lighter sheath is poplar finished in dark danish oil. The black one is 2" PVC pipe heated and molded then given about 6 coats of krylon fusion. There are some rubber inserts glued in to give it a good fricion fit. It was my $5 alternative to buying one of Condor's sheaths.
