Someone on their way back to Germany![]()
That's fun. You got the knife with the original German paperwork. Herbertz is still the sales partner from Buck Knives in Germany.Correct Mike - Got that 602 from Haebbie.
Thanks Herbert (Haebbie).
I didn't realize it had paperwork inside in German. I think that is kind of cool.
Looks like it was originally sold thru Herbertz. Doesn't look like Herbertz carries Buck Knives anymore.
The paperwork is the hint.
I don't know what's going on inside that handle, but I like it! It's hard to turn away, like something is about to happen. Here is a neat 103 clip point Buck Heath Stone made and a scrawny Buck that was playing in the yard yesterday. Great show so far everyone

Finally! A cap-lifter knife!!
Great knives everyone - Keep them coming.
Here is a 602 with box and paperwork I picked up from a forum member at the 30th BCCI last month.
Can anyone guess who I picked it up from?

New kind of sheath for me. Put a piece of stag on the Ferro rod. Leather from SB Foot Tannery. Laminated with a waterproofed layer from a backpack company. This piece was used for the bottom of Backpacks. My uncle who passed away last year built old school powder bags, knives and sheaths. My aunt gave me his leather stash and he had hundreds of pre cut pieces. Any laminated sheath I make includes this type of leather.
192 stacked leather, BG 42, Brass, straight from heat treat and stopped before blade finishing. The gold color on the blade is pretty cool. Looks like a temper line but Buck doesn't do that, I think the line is from the steel being thinner on the edge and cooled faster. I'm not sure,
I treated the handle and all of my sheaths with Montana Pitch blend conditioner. Bees wax, Mink oil and Pine pitch,
The spine is sharp. Never got polished. Should produce great sparks.
