The Sunday Picture Show... (9-25-2011)

Sit, Nice model 110's. HK, Your Knapp saw should have a match safe compartment in the handle. Nice, 121. DM

It does David.

DeSoto, thanks for the informations. Interesting:
The second one has a number above 2500 (#2539).

No, Ed, front and backside don't have the same pattern.
(Sorry for the wrong order)

Best,
Haebbie

Hi All,

Thank you so much for the wonderful SPS. The sky here in central CA is gray and has a promise of rain in the air....so the nice Buck photo's is a good way to brighten the day:).

For today here is a group of Duke 500's from the pile. Gray Bone, Polished Buff Horn, and Wormwood Bone.

I'm really growing fond of the 500s, Thanks JB! I was placing my new Buff 110 in the Folding Hunter cabinet, and grabbed these 317s....the forgotten Folding Hunters.

I found this poor old guy in a pawn shop about 15 years ago. It's had a hard life but still ready to go hunting.

From left to right

Gerber Gator Jr.
Buck 119 (2 days old)
and my EDC Buck Nobleman

Dad and I went prospecting yesterday, walking down long logging roads. I got a little sidetracked and tackled a log.

Arrow, Your 119 looks to be a 1981 mfg.. I carry one just like it in my truck only in worse shape. Kami, Nice photo. I'd check on the name of that Gerber knife. Scott, I like your 317's and as you mention, that is a nice combo for an Elk hunt. Plus, I add a skinner. JB, is that cow bone on your Duke? HK, Thank you for the second photo. I have the same saw. Plus, the Saw Buck model 154.

Nice SPS so far guys, here is my photo this week.

My wife surprised me with this set a while back. HL

This week I have a picture of the three knives that followed me home from the Gun Show yesterday.
A nice new 102 Woodsman with the 2005 Idaho stamp along with 2 variations of the SwissBuck Legend. According to information provided by Joe Houser, 116,600 of the model 87504 SwissBuck Legend in black were imported form 1991 to 1997. There were only 7,880 of the less common model 87505 White SwissBuck Legend imported, from 1994 to 1997. To my knowledge, all SwissBucks were black except for this white variation of the Legend.

Here is the link to a 2002 Thread on these. It might be possible to infer from Joe Houser's post that possibly a non equal number of each were made. Alternatively, is it possible that the entire run of about 5,000 knives for both variations were numbered sequentially and not separately? We need Joe H. to wade in on this one.

Selector project: A few weeks back I posted a photo of a early Buck Selector model 428, the one which houses two blades and the new blade I had ground for it out of 440C. Now, here it is after fitting it in the handle and having made the final adjustment. This week on to heat treating. DM

Thanks again, also for the link!! I am not sure that there were only two pewter 110 offered.
As I remember, Decaf Dave has three of them in his Display at the annual meeting in Idaho.
But I'm not sure. Vern Taylor talked about two or three different Pewter 110 in the thread
you posted. I hope Dave knows more ...

Best,
Haebbie

It is late but still Sunday here in Washington....

Here is a 110 with Palm Sagenite Jasper scales. This stone is from a rare find from a mine in Mexico.

Now I don't know why I did not think of this before but I really need to start putting up at least an occasional photo of a 110 with stone from Idaho for scales. So, here is some Willow Creek Jasper from Idaho on a Buck 110......
