Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

I like sets. Here are the 300 series reds, Smooth and Sawcut scales. The smooth scales were introduced first in the 1989 catalog. Date codes on the knives shown vary from 1989 to 1992. Missing is the 309 Sawcut, it was on my "find" list for many years until Craig (300Bucks) clued me in that Buck never made that one ???? (a 309 with "textured handles" is listed in the 1991 catalog)

Notice the rocker pins on the 3 Sawcuts. the 301 is 1991 and the 305 is 1992, both have nickel silver pins. Interestingly, the 303 is also 1992 and the pin is brass. 1991/1992 must have been the transitional time.

Arian29 Arian29 ... first to the show again. About that first knife, the 301. Am I seeing a sawcut pattern on a wood scaled knife?
I don't think I've ever seen that. Nice brass bolsters. I've got a brass set like that some where. You are going to make me look at the scales tomorrow.

The Ridgeway is an cute little pocket knife with a neat wood handle. Haebbie helped me with one from Germany. Buck later put them on web special clearance here in the US and I bought a few more.

Hello,
It is a sawcut pattern, very light/subtle on the wood, not like the cadet.

That Ridgeway came from UK, it looks like the french knife le thiers or similar imo.

Cheers!

Good morning SPS'ers and happy Easter. We took the grandkids their Easter Baskets last evening along with a ham. The show is off to a good start. I'm heading out to De Soto today to put another coat of Minwax on a new workbench top and to pull some old fenceposts. Hope to see lots more knives when I'm back this evening.
