The Sunday Picture Show (April 4, 2021)

gedlicks gedlicks .... I dream of outliving you so I can go to your estate sale...

Roger - Make sure you are an early bird because all my Buck knives will most likely be laid out on a table with $1 stickers on them.

An older gentleman in his late 80's living alone just down the street from me was a knife collector. Had well over 1000 and had them displayed in every room of his house and hanging on every bit of wall space.
He would invite me over and show me what he had and told story after story of where he found them, how much he paid for them and thought they were worth. He would ask me if he had me beat.
I always replied that he sure did. I never did show him any of my knife collection. He passed away a few months ago and I stopped by the estate sale his family was having
and I asked about possibly buying one of his knives. I was told there were so many to go thru the family didn't want to deal with them so they got ahold of someone who bought
collections and they hauled them all away for $1000. The family was glad they didn't have to deal with them. Not high end stuff but probably worth 50k. I told my wife and kids I would come
back and haunt them if they do something like that with my collection. 100% true story. That is what nightmares are made of.

Sad! That’s a story for an extra thread.

great show all. great knives and pics. thanks all and thanks to Roger for hosting this Easter Sunday for us.

this is kinda a setup of sets sort of.....3 different versions of the 808s one a custom modified into something very different, the tan set of gcks, and a bunch of really great Makael made sheaths for them.

Happy Easter all.

jbmonkey - That bottom 808 on the right is pretty cool. Different grind and shape. Looks kukri inspired.

Buck needs to put that into production in their survival series of knives.

I'm still lacking a GCK. I want a Tanto version, I need a pattern as well. Not used to having to order one instead of walking in to purchase one.

thank you. yeah I got from Mike. he knows the story better than me and posted some of it already. it's a great modified use of a 808.

as for production..... @DOGPOUND77 Craig has a converted to a bowie from a froe that I think is even better than this one. maybe he'll post it for us?
