The Sunday Picture Show (February 15th, 2026)

I’m sure I am not alone in saluting this beautiful Buck and asking for more information please? Thanks as always DeSotoSky DeSotoSky Roger for hosting and the weekly history lesson!View attachment 3106775View attachment 3106776View attachment 3106777
I really do not have a lot of information about this knife except for it is a Jimmy Sabo customization. I cut and pasted this; Jimmy Sabo, the man behind Jimmyz Pocket Jewelry, creates innovative, cartoon-like designs on knife handles using the Zuni inlay technique. Incredible detail using pearl and gem stones as inlays

The CrossLock was Knife of the year at the Blade Show in 1994. Since then there have been many variations.

Here’s a 692 chisel FB. The factory Blem I’m pretty sure is because the ion fusion coating didn’t take. It’s been used, not by me. The pictures make it look like it look worse than it is. I doubt it’s the factory edge. Can’t decide if I should send it back to Buck’s spa and have them put a double edge on it or just sharpen and clean it up the best they can.
Only reason I bought it was for the sheath, leather 100th anniversary. Which wasn’t original with this knife.
I’m guessing this knife was made from a leftover blade from Cabela’s rubber handled edition.
I have one question would glass beating the blade take the rest of the finish off? Or maybe Cerakote the blade an olive drab.

Pretty sweet looking knife, blem or no! May we see that sheath, Por favor?

Besides these Brown and Red 183 Hoofpick CrossLocks there were 3 model 180 CrossLocks with hoofpicks, one standard, one for Pro Rodeo (c.1995), and one with the Purina Mills logo (shown above). The 550 Selector 2.0 also has a hoofpick. It is shown in the 2017 catalog. I don't know why I never bought one, I have all the original Selectors and blades. It's a deep deep rabbit hole.

Thi is the sheath that came with the above Blem. Definitely not the correct sheath for that knife.
This knife I bought with no sheath. And I’ve been looking for 100th anniversary nylon sheath for it. Which I have one of those coming now in the next week also. But I seen this brown leather one, and I don’t think the hundred anniversary leather ones are that common.

Has anyone here used the saw blade and gut hook on this version for deer or other big game? I wanted one of these for awhile but always feared those features would be too small to be useful, so I never bought one.

I have used the saw on whitetails; it is very effective when splitting the pelvis. I find the relatively shorter saw blade is easier to work and much tidier than longer saw blades.

The model 180 CrossLock called the River Rafter. I guess the sheeps foot blade is to help keep you from poking a hole in the raft 🤣 . A fully serrated blade, how many other Buck knives had fully serrated blades? I think not many. There are plenty of half serrated blades.
