My sheath fits just fine, no problems, but today I saw three stitches coming off near the clip side, nothing serious, I guess.

BTW,
Im a fan of Buck knives and I love SPS. It’s my enthusiasm to post here asap ... pouncing?

First up again... you were ready to pounce. I have the 640 like yours. How well does the sheath fit? The welt in the top opening on mine is too wide making the opening too narrow and it will only slide in as far as the choil without forcing it. Should have sent it back.

124 and 640 XL are similar in many ways with big handles. Here’s an old pic,

this is the knife model that should be in the custom shop instead of the 916 with that tiny silly handle, or they could put a bigger handle on the 916 and I'd be okay with that too.

I like the shape of the knife but always found the metal plate on the handle a little too "industrial" for my taste.

I agree.
I was kicking around the idea of using it as I like small fixed blades for edc.
But the sheath isn't right, and like always..... the Bucks are almost too pretty.
