The Sunday Picture Show (January 9, 2022)

Slow show today, must be the cold. Not one knee jerk reaction to my posting a picture of a Browning knife without explanation. Yes, Buck did make those knives for Browning, and several others in the Mastersmith series. My knife can be found documented on the 2007 Special Projects list. The Buck model designation is 609. Still time for more, I'll look around for something else.

Oh, I checked it out Roger, There are some older threads om BF about that series. I figured to let you or someone else question and explain,

could be many of us knew Buck made it...and those that didn't know trusted that you knew Buck made it, so we just trusted ya.😉

Some repeats. Here is the Elk Stag version of the 922 Redhead shown by GPyro GPyro . Pre merger, these were a Bass Pro exclusive. There was a third version offered in G10. I acquired this nice Elk handled Redhead Skinner from another forum member awhile ago. As I recall it was the display model and they couldn't find the box & sheath when he purchased it, so it came to me without a sheath. I purchased this sheath off eBay but it did not fit. The original would have had a basket weave pattern on the leather.

Native American Series. Quail, Kachina Doll, Thunderbird, Scorpion. There have been discussions previously about these concerning Bucks naming. The 2nd knife labeled "Kachina Doll" has been pointed out to more resemble a Zuni Knifewing. The 4th knife which Buck labeled as a "Scorpion" is clearly not a Scorpion in shape or number of legs. (a Scorpion would have 8). It does more closely resemble a Gecko or Lizzard. These were made in very small numbers, lower than the full serialization number. I'm not getting off the sofa to look it up ;o).

Who made the Winchester G41322—a slightly larger copy of the 110? The knife I have dates from about 2011.

Is that your picture Sky ?

I found that picture on the internet and posted it to another site many years ago.

This is the only one from that series I was able to find.

bertl bertl , It is listed as made in China so I'm sure it is not Buck. I did not know what it is so had to look it up. Pic follows.

I got to thinking about it and that Winchester reminded me of a Chinese counterfit 112 that was floating around a few years ago.
This picture is from a post by Oregon (Steve Dunn) a few years back. I'm sure he would not mind.

thats a cool custom with what is it...... the bass pro 154cm coated blade i think coated blade? who made that one? really great.

wish we had more of that coating option available........instead of the cerakote nowadays.
I bought this from a fellow Buck collector at a gun show many years ago.He said it was made by Remer/Stone.

It certainly is done well and with a nice piece of Sambar Stag.

The blade also has mirror finish.

I can tell its mirror and with one of the better coatings Buck has used.....thank you for the information. its a great custom. one to be proud of there.

When is a Buck not a Buck?
Well... when it's a Browning, kinda.

Buck did a SOG Bowie for Browning years ago as part of a commemorative series of knives.

This is 1 of 30 knives made from leftover blades from that series. There were 10 in phenolic, 10 in cherry and 10 in elk. So, this is one of 10.

Buck has done quite a few knives for other brands over the years. Some with and some without Buck branding. Browning, Cabelas, Thompson Center, Remington (of course), Redhead, and Fairbairn/Applegate, to name a few.

Hi All,

Nice show you have going on today. When I saw that Browning knife Roger posted I did not know it was a Buck made knife. However, as Roger was only telling us how nice the handle is and no other information. Well the jig was up, that was a dead giveaway for me and I'm sure others as well. Thank you Roger and All of the Buck Nuts for these weekly shows!

Here are the only non-Buck Bucks in my pile
