Hey Makael, the Mammoths didn't like the heat either

During the last ice age – some 100,000 to 15,000 years ago – mammoths were widespread in the northern hemisphere from Spain to Alaska. Due to the global warming that began 15,000 years ago, their habitat in Northern Siberia and Alaska shrank. On Wrangel Island, some mammoths were cut off from the mainland by rising sea levels; that population survived another 7000 years.

Makael. Here just north of Portland Oregon our expected high for the next couple days exceeds yours. Record high expected today and tomorrow. I am currently at work since 5am both yesterday and today working until noon so I can leave early the next couple days to avoid the high temps. I work in a steel building without a/c painting cars and when the booth is in the bake cycle at 150 degrees the heat from the booth radiates thru the paint shop heating it up even more.

My only Caper,I use it every fall.

The original Selector Series had 10 blade choices including several for removing fur coats. A Caper was not in the mix. Neither was a Zipper. I fashioned a Potato Peeler out of a Gut Hook. It probably would not be too difficult to fashion a Caper out of a larger blade. David Martin used to make Custom Selector Blades.View attachment 1590560View attachment 1590561

Thanks for showing that 135 Caper.
BUCK used the CAPER name on 7 different knives. I'm waiting for some of these others to show up. Can't hog all the fun.
There is still time to show them...

weather.com shows Boise with 15 days in a row 100 or higher... the record is 11 in a row if I remember right... I'd be worried but weather.com usually has a "spotty" record, and I doubt anyone can accurately do weather that far in advance. Feel for you guys in WA though 🥵
(son-in-law grew up in AZ... he thinks we're all wusses 😅 )
HAHA...you are all wusses. We already had 6 consecutive days of 115 or higher that started on June 15th of this month. 100 degrees is like a cool breeze to us. We had a couple days of 118 and hit 120 once already. 👺

Seriously though...those in areas that are experiencing higher temps take caution, stay inside/shade when possible and drink lots of water. Heat stroke is no joke. I always hear of people dying when temps get higher than the normal for areas where the people are not acclimated for it.

Agreed, you can see by the average we’re used to that these are way up there.D55EA984-097C-4FB0-AA03-E8443F2C84C3.jpeg

(repost) I purchased this brown micarta pair from DOGPOUND77 in a black vintage Buck TwinSet sheath. I did not feel it did them justice so I commissioned this custom sheath by MAKAEL. I think it was worth the wait. Although this is by no means a factory Twinset, Buck did sell the 103/116 combination as the 117 Trophy Set.
