Here are a couple of fillet knives from Taiwan: the 229 Ulti-Mate Ocean and 559 Fishlocker. With a blade length of roughly 9", the 229 is a little large for the brookies I catch.

Closests ive have to Filet knife is a Buck/Mr Crappie green bump board used as scales for a Houser Buck 110.

Great pics OH. I agree about the recent 121 Guide. It is basically a trailing point 105 - too stiff to work as a dedicated fillet knife, but good for general duty.

I have no idea where I got this and it has no model number. It's about the same size as the 123. Who will identify this for me? The knife has a 2011 date code. Bert

Something about the handle nags at me. I think Buck did an Alaskan Guide Fillet knife with that profile. Of course the handle and blade finish were different. I think I have one, I'll look.

I got no fishing Buck knife. all I got are other brands, but I do have some Buck brand fishin gloves and just haven't used them yet.

Here you go bertl ...The model 126 Alaskan Guide Fillet. TiN coated blade in S30V. Rosewood Dymondwood handle and full tang. No model number, just BUCK/USA. It has the tiniest date code I've ever seen just after the A, I had to use a magnifying glass... 2011. Would your's be a prototype or buildout? Buck did a reddish paperstone 186 Odyssey for WalMart once with a similar style crosshatch on the handle.

This one is just what Old Hunter needs. The model 021 Clearwater Bait Knife. Slightly stiffer 5" blade with some serrations on the spine. There is a matching 6" and 9" fillet. I don't think they made the Bait Knife very long, but I'm too lazy to check. USA made, what's not to like.

That looks like the same knife but with different details. As I said, I know nothing about this knife. Until this morning when I found it while looking for other fillet knives I had completely forgotten about it. When that happens it probably indicates I have too many knives. Thanks, Roger.

The only stamp is "BUCK/USA" with a 2011 date code. Another difference is that it has two handle rivets, not three.

Yep.
I actually attended a catered dinner last night for my father's 80th birthday.... And the knife they had was a faux elk handled knife very similar to the Buck 405.....

The knife was one of Joe Houser's last customs from the last LE offerings.

My Buck filet knife is really ordinary, an import I believe. This take apart Aluminum Club Knife utilizes a T-nut in the pivot and is adjustable for blade play. The Model 186 used a #5X40TPI cap screw a a bushing in the pivot.View attachment 1577851View attachment 1577850
