501 Sunday Picture Show 1024X label.jpg
Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

This week I have a David Yellowhorse customized model 192 Vanguard. It's my most recent acquisition, arriving in the mailbox a few days ago. I do not have very many Yellowhorses but I do collect Vanguards, this will be one of my fanciest. Called "ELK MOUNTAIN" it has a titanium coated CPM154 blade. The handle features bloody jasper, turquoise, nickel silver, and maple burl. A fancy box rounds out this nice 1 of 100 package. I could not find it in the special projects listing or the catalogs but I do know that Buck did a number of titanium coated CPM154 bladed knives for Bass Pro in 2006, the same year as the blade on this knife.

I notice there is a tendency to follow the leader with what to post and that is fine, we get to see a lot of variations of a particular knife but remember, this show is for all Buck knives. Please do not hesitate to show whatever you have, jbmonkey is waiting out there to see all your "plain janes".

I like a nice pearl handle. But they usually don't come cheap. So far these are my only two.

Once again Roger, thank you for taking over the reins of the SPS. Thanks to all that post and comment.
I ask Gene M. about this David Yellowhorse, he said it was one off and is made of extra/left-over parts. I fished it out of the 'bay'. It is signed but not numbered, didn't get any paperwork or box, just the plaque.

What a treasure that 112 is! Great job on the SPA...me I like the before condition.

Thanks Preston. I considered sending it to Buck for a spa treatment, but I decided that would remove all the history/handling of granddad. So I decided to handle it a bit myself and add to it's history.

jbmonkey jbmonkey , how about a pic of the spear point in the sheath?

DeSotoSky DeSotoSky , Thanks Very Much for hosting us!

Good morning SPSers. Oldbiker and Skyler got us off to an early start. Boy, I wish I could go shopping at Skylers estate sale but given our respective ages, it's more likely he will be at mine. Chilebrown, New South Wales is a long way from California, how'd that happen? jbmonkey, aren't those Looper sheaths nice? Seem like the single centerline stitch is going to be one of his trademarks. Gpyro and DDDwho have followed suit with Vanguards, one of my favorites. Preston, repeat after me.... "I will not buy a knife without first sending the link to DeSoto for permission". Matthew...good decision on grandpa's knife. And mbkr, that knife looks like something found at Roswell. Have a great day everyone, I'm thinking about breaking quarantine and heading out to a knife show... addiction makes you do stupid stuff...
