The Sunday Picture Show (November 13, 2022)

I just recently picked a few 112's from my Brother and this was one of them. My original I let go at the start of Covid..The shieth is by Ryan Birmingham. This BOTM is hardly ever offered for sale at any price probably because it has a matching 110 and a 113..20221029_175901.jpg

yep. lost most of it to the storms most got knocked over and uprooted or broken. found this price cleaning up debris of limbs snd such still standing. so took a break and chomped down on it.
I recall you saying most of it was knocked down in Ian. Glad some made it through. Not sure how many know what "chewing on sugar cane" is about or have enjoy the benefits of it.

yep. first storm dropped limbs on it and knocked most over and wind broke most of it. I thought it was all gone. some has turned upwards and kept alive......this last storm dropped more limbs on what was left so thought it was all destroyed...but ive cleaned most of those limbs up and there is a few pieces that at still going. maybe a handful left alive....is what it is.....

yeah only really grows well in the gulf states..so not from there ya wouldn't really know about it.

Glad at least a few stalks still kicking. I recall as a kid, cutting it and taking to my grandparents where I provided the "horsepower" for the mill. Juice was good but only in small quantities.

Peaking my interest. What is this?
blue ribbon sugar cane syrup. it's sugar cane ground down into the juice...which is boiled down and over time turned into syrup. it's a super sweet syrup.....

blue ribbon is an old type of cane...that piece I have in my pic is that breed.

its a love or hate thing on the syrup. raw sugar cane juice has a very different taste and flavor and most people like it. syrup side some love it some dislike it.
