Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

Random pick from the cabinet. Model 278 Folding Alpha Hunter with "Stacked Antlers". Handle is Imitation Ivory, Buck speak for plastic? Has the Idaho date logo but no model number on the blade. This knife was a Smoky Mountain project and serialized to 500. There are other knives in this handle type but different graphics. I think there are about 3 or 4 total. Hopefully we will see some of the others on the show.

"...serialized to 500..."

What is the significance of the 718 blade etch? πŸ€”

Ha Ha It is my inventory label. I use the Brother P-Touch system. Handy as a pocket on a shirt around the home and shop.
Black text on a clear adhesive label in this case. Box/sheath are often labeled similarly if I have them. I'll tell you my "secret" code. "718" means I purchased the knife in July 2018. Actually every knife purchased that month gets the same code. In this way I don't have to keep track of a sequential number but is quick and simple to find the knife in the database. Just how many 279's did I buy that month after all? I use Excel for my database.
