The Sunday Picture Show (October 20th, 2024)

Happy SPS everyone! Great knives as always. Keep them coming. Here are my drop point 112 Rangers. They are stout and capable. I've been carrying the 420HC blue wood this weekend. Prepped chicken and vegetables last night. Did the job. Notice the location of the nail nick on the S30V. I don't mind but it's different.

Great stuff about the Louisiana Purchase 👍
Anybody interested in reading about the Lewis and Clark expedition, I highly recommend Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambose.

Interesting that Buck originally called it a "coating" in their own adds🤔
Buck did a chisel grind?! Who knew? 😵 Always good to learn stuff 🎓🤓

An 883 Code 3 Crosslock for your perusal :)

Thanks Roger for another Sunday Picture Show. Thanks also to all who post photos and comment

Was up early this AM to take Dutch(Black Labs Matter:)) duck hunting. Been warm and the big ducks are not plentiful yet. We really don't get a lot of ducks in my area anyway. My hunting buddy's son put nest boxes(12-15) on this property for his Eagle Scout project. It has made a difference all we saw this morning was woodies. We both got two, which is all that is allowed. Our black labs performed wonderful and retrieved with exuberance!

Dutch is resting, waiting for me to breast out my two. I will use the 118 but will show the Ion Fusion 192 also.

Thank you Roger for hosting this show each week and adding the History bite! Also, on this day October 20th 1977 Lynyrd Skynyrd's plane crashed in Mississippi, Gimlin & Patterson filmed a Big foot in 1967. In Addition, Thank you to each of you who has taken the time to post photos or add to the conversations.

On This Day, October 20, 1977 Lynyrd Skynyrd and 5 others killed in a plane crash. 20 survivors with serious injuries.
No mechanical problem. Crash blamed on pilot inattention and ran out of fuel.

This says it all....
It was later discovered that the very same aircraft had earlier been inspected by members of Aerosmith's flight crew for possible use in their Draw the Line tour, but it was rejected because it was felt that neither the plane nor the crew were up to standard. Aerosmith's assistant chief of flight operations, Zunk Buker, told of observing pilots McCreary and Gray sharing a bottle of Jack Daniel's while he and his father inspected the plane.

Railsplitter

That's a 3-spring 303. If you look at the springs, which also acted as spacers, you can see why the positions of the spey blade and sheepsfoot blade, had to be reversed relative to the earlier 2-spring models.

Great show today, as always. There is still time for more.

Beautiful 119 Emerald Green Dymondwood IonFusion c.1997

The 1998 Master Series 119 knives had checkered Emerald Green Dymondwood handles and non serrated BG42 blades.
