Hello and welcome to the Sunday Picture Show. Share your Buck knives with others by posting pictures of them here. New or old, plain or custom, user or safe queen, one or a collection, we love to see them all. This weekly tradition was started in 2010 by ItsTooEarly (Armand Hernandez) and Oregon (Steve Dunn). Help keep the tradition alive. Feel free to click that 'LIKE' but lets not let it replace discussing and complimenting each others knives. Above all, enjoy the show. DeSotoSky (Roger Yost)

This day in history October 3
1990 German Unity Day, the unification of East and West Germany. A holiday for our friend Haebbie Haebbie . I mention this because there is a related Buck knife commemorating the fall of the Berlin wall the prior November. Pretty sure haebbie will have one to show.
Other interesting events.
1913 The Underwood/Simmons Tariff Act establishes federal income tax as we know it today. Wouldn't you know, a Democrat, Woodrow Wilson signed it into law.
The Spendocrats sure love it.
1995 O.J. Simpson found not guilty.
???? Tecate Tecate 's Birthday

OK, on with the show. This week I have a Strider model 880T Tanto c. 2000. I found it in the Buck catalog from 2000-2005. It was billed as a Tactical Folder. The 880SP Spear Point followed in 2001. The model # is not marked on the blade. Quality construction, bead blasted ATS-34 Stainless blade, G10 handles and Titanium liner lock frame. Not a cheap knife at $190 msrp. I'm not a tactical guy and don't know much about Striders or their origin. This one was offered to me at a knife show for a can't leave it price. If someone could tell me the meaning of the "89.1" stamp just above the date code I would love to know.

Greetings,

I had to make a run into the big city today and thought that I'd stop by the big box store to finish off my shopping list of one new knife and some .22 shells but the huge lineup at the counter and utter lack of inventory changed that plan.

On the way home I stopped in at a town for gas and decided to check in at the local sporting goods shop for .22 shells. Luckily they had a few boxes of CCI's that will suffice but the real score was three NOS Buck 112 Ranger LT's.

Yes, Roger, the third of October is an important day for the German nation. The GDR (German Democratic Republic) became a part of the Federal Republic of Germany. I lived in Berlin at this time, 200 yards away from the wall and I stood on the wall at the Brandenburg Gate when the border to the socialism fell. And I’m really thankful because of the activities the U.S.A. did for the Germans and for our independence.
Thank You!
Haebbie

The show is off to a great start as usual. I need to up my photography, I'm always impressed with the artistic bent you guys have.

The squirrels got into my eave, I had two trees overhanging the house and they are both gone now. Thought that would fix the problem, nope, they are now climbing the brick.
Caught one in a live trap this morning. Guess I gotta get dressed and go take care of that. I live in a subdivision so I can't pop em.

C Chilebrown Great picture of a mirror polished blade. They are so hard to do. (post #8)

redsparrow redsparrow Yeah, the factory sheath for the 212 does not do it justice. (post #9)

Hope your trap solves your squirrel problem. Climbing brick shows how determined they can be.

A great blade like the 212 deserves a quality sheath. The one I got from Buck is so ill fitting the knife keeps backing out and the guard was actually scratched during shipping.
I expected to have to replace the sheath after reading about it on this forum. I contacted Makael for the replacement having seen his excellent work and I'm looking forward to posting it here soon.
