The Sunday Picture Show (October 3, 2021)

Yes, Roger, the third of October is an important day for the German nation. The GDR (German Democratic Republic) became a part of the Federal Republic of Germany. I lived in Berlin at this time, 200 yards away from the wall and I stood on the wall at the Brandenburg Gate when the border to the socialism fell. And I’m really thankful because of the activities the U.S.A. did for the Germans and for our independence.
Thank You!

It's a day I'll never forget, it was unreal at the time.
Are those two rocks in the picture from the wall ?

Sir you lived in east Berlin or Soviet controlled
Berlin.....or am I thinking backwards?

No, JB, I lived in West Berlin, the democratic sting in the socialist sector.

Haebbie
gotcha. I was thinkin backwards. thanks for clarification. I remember that event. I was in high school when it happened. I grew up learning east and west Germany and e/w Berlin. talk of airplanes flying in supplies to the west side and all the craziness of a split city...in a split country.
