The Survive! Wish List - reasonable

I agree that G10 gets slick when wet. Solution: Order canvas micarta. The look of the G10 cannot be beat, but it has minimal utility when wet unless you rough it up. When you rough it up, it looses it's look. Just one of those trade offs. Similar situation with linen micarta. Better looks than canvas, but slicker when wet. I love the look of wooden scales, and I own many. But, they are also slick when wet limiting their application. It always boils down to your intended usage.

I agree with you about the look of G10. Nonetheless I own 8 or 10 knives with G10 with contouring/grooves in the scales and they have as much dry grip and about 95% of the wet grip as my canvas micarta scales. I've spoken with Guy about it and he said he would need new equipment to do it. I think he has other priorities.

My wish list has less to do with what I want for me, but what I want for S!K.

Guy has refined the designs that are out now and they look AWESOME. He has filled a few holes in the product offering and now has a VERY complete line that stands up well against other brands in this market segment. IMHO, right now they don't need to introduce more models.

My "wish list" for S!K is for them to increase the availability of their product / increase their production capacity without decreasing quality. Guy and Ellie are doing a great job, and I want to see them continue to succeed as they grow their company.

I am interested to see what Guy comes up with in terms of folder designs. I would still like to see a hard-use oriented balisong.

Well said

Nc, your mother would be proud! I definitely agree with you.

A S! would be insane. Like a Keffeler super assassin, but with micarta handle scales and Guy's styling.

I'm still hoping Guy will find it in his heart to pump out one more 7/7 with a false grind. Even if I do gotta wait it'd be worth it. I'm figuring they're gonna ship my 7/7 and 3.5 together since they are scheduled back to back. Hell I don't mind if they do I've waited this long what's another few weeks or a month.

Yes! I've got a Busse Gladius (which is awesome). I would love to see a Survive sword of some kind. Though I don't think it fits their niche :-)

I hope they decide its "worth it" as a modern day thing swords aren't entirely practical...I still want one, and if i was going to have one, I'd want it to be functional! Plus I think Guy could pump one out at a reasonable price, which would be an added benefit.

Exactly - I don't think many of us here want these as pure decorations. I have a lot of knives and some are definitely pretty and decorative - but all are 100% functional

Id love a bayonet, not the most functional thing, but if you want to put a combination bayonet/survival knife on your rifle for whatever reason, you're stuck with 420 stainless.

I'm hoping the more Guy plays with his Super Assassin, the more he'll be open to the GSO 20.

Sounds like there may be a decent amount of interest too. I wonder if his current machines could support ~30 overall length?

S!K Hawk. The more I think about it, the more I want it. Ide go for a less high end steel too. Something that doesnt rust the moment a molcule of water hits would be nice. 3V would be sweet, but a tough alloyed carbon steel like A2 would work well.
