The Team Gemini Battle Grade Is Now "LIVE" On The Website!!!!

^^^^ This for me, too. My first Busse, although my third "kin," if I understand that term correctly.

I'm waffling on the scales, though. I couldn't decide between black micarta and black/tan G10. I like the looks of the G10, but also the black canvas micarta on tanker gray I've seen elsewhere. And the canvas micarta feels so good in the hand. But still waffling...thinking of calling and trying to change the order.

LOL we've all been there, my friend. I really only want 1, but ordered 3 of them because I couldn't make up my mind about the color combination.

does anyone think the infi light brigade version of this knife is meaningfully better and worth $130 more than the SR101 version (as a hard user knife)? I know there is collectibility in having both, and I know there is lots of love for infi around here, but SR101 is still a damn good steel.

Honestly, I think the SR101 takes a sharper edge than the infi. The Ratmandu CG I have seems sharper than the TGLB I had. I regret ed selling it but now that the SR101 version is out I am taking full advantage of the opportunity.

My TGLB made it one year without a sharpening with moderate use, I cannot say the same for any sr101 with the same usage...in my expierence the infi hold a better edge.

Yeah, I thought about that, too. And I have a feeling that I'm really going to like the TG, to the point that if I only have one, I'm going to regret it.

To answer the question posted earlier these are not LB. They are not cut out under the scales.
I ordered all black for this one. Does the canvas look as good as the g10? I ordered the canvas,
And am on the fence.

I think the G10 always looks 'nicer' but I've preferred the canvas micarta on every Busse-kin blade I've handled. I'm giving the TGBG a miss as I have a limited budget and there are a couple of other things I am chasing, and I already have a TGLB to hand.

No, the INFI version is probably not meaningfully better. No one can break either blade. I like to say that SR101 has 90% of the properties of INFI at 60% of the price.

I ordered my first Busse woo woo , super excited that this was available! I have been wanting one of these , and a steel heart but it was sold out. I was so quick to order my card was smoking.

I ordered the tanker gray and black canvas , how ever I did not realize black canvas is not black :(

I sent an email hopefully they will let me upgrade to one of the g10 handles.

If they can't change it for you, never fear! You can dye black canvas with leather dye or Rit dye and it looks pretty good and lasts a long time.

Like I said above, I waffled and selected black canvas. I have since emailed Lexi to ask if I can change that to tan/black G10. However, if I can't, I won't be heartbroken. Or perhaps even disappointed. I have black canvas on a Rodent 6, and it is a fantastic handle material. I personally wouldn't even bother dyeing the black canvas. IMO, it looks great as is. But if you're looking for pure black, it probably isn't it. I've heard mention of putting oil (olive?) on it to make it black. And over time, the oils in your skin tend to turn it blacker. But not G10 black.

Yeah the black canvas is more of a grey greenish color than black. Personally I love the way it looks with a black or double cut blade. I'd bet it probably goes well with tanker grey too but I don't own anything with that combo. Tan canvas and black canvas are my favorite Busse handle colors, I usually prefer canvas to G10 on fixed blades.

Don't be sad. Tanker grey with black micarta is one of the best colour combo.

I don't like black g10, because it is shiny, but I like black micarta as it grows old and become black, real black.

If your knife is a safe queen, then black micarta is greyish, but if you use it a lot, it turns matte black.

Any knife up to about 8 inches, is not going to be a serious chopper, so get what ever material appeals to you! For choppers-8 inches or longer, canvas is the choice, its softer on the hands, and will not slip as easily as G10
