I once heard this canon at the local fiddlers convention (The old time fiddlers convention @Athens State University- considered the "granddaddy" of them all by some) in Athens, Alabama. Three girls on fiddle played this impromptu, with just some dude holding the sheet music. Considering a "fiddle" is tuned to sound even more "melancholy" than a normal violin... it was very impressive.
