the toughest "mini" folder?

blattman, I live in Belgium, so I'd probably pay somewhat money to have it sent to me......and if customs get their hands on it, I'll have to pay a good lot of taxes :( So far, I've never ordered from the USA cause I also dont own a creditcard. Maybe I'll just have to give in someday and get me one....:)

I now informed at my Dutch (knife! ;) )dealer if maybe they could import the wegner with their next shipment from the states. Haven't got an answer yet...

I'll let you guys know wich one i end up with...and how much i like it

Thanks ya'all, Happy 2005!

ya know another really good small knife is the MT mini SOCOM elite w/the frame lock, didnt think of it earlier as my wife took mine (hers now lol) when i got it, its an excellent little folder, great locking, i really like it, if i was limited to 3" for some reason/another, the mini SOCOM would be in my top 3 (BM 705, buck/strider mini or a mini SOCOM elite in no particular order)

this is a great thread IMO.

especially since I am on the lookout for a "tough" mini folder.

Interestingly, the Strider PT and Mini seb weren't discussed.

I love the looks of the BM707...but the 881Sp has got my attention for sure.

let's keep this one going.

Here is a bump to keep this one alive. I have both the 705 and the 881SP. I have put the 705 away and I'm now EDCing the 881SP.

What about mini buck strider with tanto blade. The blade is even stronger than spear point model because of the thicker tip. Does anyone have it? I don't but I want to get one. What are your thought on how practical usefull the short thick tanto blade? I heard that the tip part of the blade is not sharp, was meant to be used as tool. What tool? Will it be possible to make it sharp? Thanks!

i have one of the mini strider/bucks with the tanto that you speak of,
its a folding prybar/chisel/knife/implement of destruction.

i use it as a can opener, a scraper, a stabber, a knife and iv even removed a few nails with it.

i really like it and EDC it.

its as close to indestructable as you gona get short of a pure bred strider.

the tanto edge is ment to be used for scrapeing and chiseling as far as i can figure, its still sharp enough to cut if u needed it to, it just has very wide bevels for strength.

I just got a 707S and folks I have to tell you it's a decent knife. The handle is aluminum with G-10 inserts, and the blade seems to have a smaller portion of serations while the main frontal part of the blade has more belly to it. The blade is made out of 154CM and should hold up well as an EDC for almost anyone. It gets two thumbs up from me.

Tim Wegner Mouse II. S30V thick, but flat ground 2" blade with G10 scales.
Doesn't get much tougher (at its size) than that!

Awesome little knife for sure. It feels and acts as a larger knife than what it actually is. Hell, this mouse thinks its a moose. I really recommend these for someone needing a small knife. Really a different animal than many other knives in this thread.

If you are considering a mini Buck Strider you had better get'em while you can. They have been discontinued.
