The TRADITIONAL sunday picture show!!!!

Caleb,

I don't remember. At one point I found the date codes for Puma. Its 25591 on this knife. I know it can't be all that old, my grandfather bought it at a shop during my lifetime.

Hi Kevin!

Oustanding beauty!

I just went to the HP of Puma Knives and found an identification button. I set in your number and it says, that the knife has been made in first half year 1995. Can that be possible?

If I break any rules, please tell me and I´ll remove the HP-adress.

Hope this helps a little.

Kind regards
Andi

Andi, thank you!!

I bookmarked that site :)

1995 makes sense. My grandfather bought it new from a knife retailer when they were going out of business.

Do you know any history about Puma? Thanks!

Kevin

Andi that is one heck of a long history! Noteable to my knife is 1956 when it was designed for the East African Hunting Organization and 1995 as the first year for CNC controllers and lazer cut technology.

I don't know if that is good or not?

Kevin

I also wonder what steel? If 440C they state that is hardened to 57-60. This knife still has the red rockwell sticker pointing to the indent on the oppossing side of the white hunter etch.

Hi Kevin!

Their history is pretty long. I think, it´s one of the most traditional knife companies in Germany.

About CNC laser cutting, I don´t know if it´s good or not, too. But I think these kind of knives are made for a long term of use. Though nowadays they are more collectors knives. I just made the joke about costumizing my own one... pretty heavy prize.

About the used steel, I think a little mail to Puma could help.

Kind regards
Andi

Can we get back to showing pictures of knives now?? You know, "Sunday Picture Show"

GEC #79 Workhorse Whittler with Ebony covers.

It isn't a safe/drawer queen. It has alread been put to heavy duty work, cutting a very heavy, sturdy, branch from a huge bush, trimming the heavy, sturdy, branch of all small branches, and detailing the point for this handy-dandy marshmallow stick!!!
