(have you ever seen a contemporary photo of a clean shaved "mountain man" in the field?
I ain't. Jim Bridger, Kit Carson, and others all had a beard in every contemporary photo I've seen of them.
The company regulations may have said " must be clean shaven" (or words to that effect). However, about the only time those with that "requirement" actually shaved was for the Rendevous. Too much hassle in the field.
They all had a folding "shaving knife" in their kit, but were more apt to use it to cut ptches when loading their rifle/musket. Cotton (or very thin tanned leather) is easier on an edge than face fur made of the same stuff as fingernails n toenails ... rhino horn ... 🤔😇)

Good, old Sodbusters, Modoc ED Modoc ED !!

Is there still a thread with all its pictures intact for Cripple Creek knives??
Neat 3 1/4" mini-trapper, made for Knife World (now Knife!)! I think it's the first one made for them, in 1982!! Bob Cargill was very fond of "matchstrikes"!!!
Another question; Eureka Trapper? Dogleg Trapper? What's it called??

I've always called it a dogleg 🤷‍♂️
How is the pull on yours?
The pull on mine is pretty stiff. I haven't had it out in a while, but IIRC it was an "8" or so.

Here it is with a Warrior that Bob made in the mid-nineties after he got the name back. Its pull is much easier.
