Nay, I have nowhere near the technological knowhow for such a feat.

The effect is achieved by placing a short candle holder in the bowl, and balancing the knife atop it.

I should add, the effect was (first) achieved accidentally; the knife in question kept sliding and tipping all the wrong ways in the blue bowl, and in a moment of rare inspiration I noticed the clear candle holder nearby, and put it to use. :-)
