The TRADITIONAL sunday picture show!!!!

Can anyone tell me whether this knife was also made in a Great Eastern version with wood scales and 440C blades? If so, what was GEC's full model number for it? Thanks for any assistance!

SORRY! My question about availability of the same model in GEC wood/440C was referring to AVOIDSPAM's single blade lockback several posts previous. I didn't know how to repeat the image above my question in the post.

Some fantastic pics today fellers :)

Looking good Sam

Just discovered that the Spyderco Double Stuff pouch is a perfect fit for the Case Backpocket... helps keep the knife upright in the pocket too!

I got mine from Sal when the stones were just single, so the pouches won't accomodate a knife unfortunately (I just tried recently). Shame :)

Great picture, Robert! Your dragon scale mail is really looking nice!!

Definitely!

Wow! Nice pics :)

I've had my Bladeforums Easy-Open Jack with me today (and my Mauser Officers Knife)

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday :)

Something a little different but I think it fits the term Traditional :D. I bought these tools over 40 years ago at an auction on the site of the original harness makers shop, opened in 1835. The round knife is marked Osborne 1826 as are all the other tools I got, many more than shown here. That 1826 mark was used for most the Osbornes history but I believe these are from the date the shop was opened. The scissors are Morley and sons that I got recently. Hope this fits the thread.

Best regards

Beautiful sunset Paul!

Thanks Jack!

Stunning Oeser Finedges, wish I'd said 'yes please' when the chance popped up! Looks like you're enjoying it though which is grand:)

buckthorn - the last run of GEC #72 in 440C that I'm aware of were Elk scaled and they went pretty quick! It'll always be a #72 pattern from GEC, regardless of steel (I think). Keep an eye on Great Eastern Cutlery's website to see what's coming up and the exchange here. Both the #72 and #73 are popular so get snagged quick! I'm waiting and hoping they bring out a single blade or pen and main blade version of the #74 Saddle Trapper.... Check them out so far. I think it's a nicer handle shape than the #72/3

Robin, I love old tools as well, thanks for showing them because they certainly are Traditional.

Thanks guys. I have another tool I'll post when I can find it, came from the same harness shop. I forget the mark but I think it came from the first tool making shop in the US, if I remember correctly. Besides the tools which were buried in the bottom of a box of junk there was a very early cameo broach in 22 carat gold :D. Bought the box for $20.00, sold the cameo for $500.00.:D

Best regards

Robin

This one has some provenance to it as well. Perhaps some day I can be persuaded to divulge it's history. ;)
