the uh WTF-O i am in deep trouble thread

I'm in the "lock the hubs and see if the power is still on at the theatre" camp. I have around 200 pounds of gear in my truck box, from self-rescue 4x4 stuff to enough tools to rebuild the thing from the frame up, to probably 10,000 calories worth of tasty food and a bunch of water, to a folding-stocked m14 with a couple hundred rounds and an eotech 551, to rain gear and a sweater and blankets.

It would probably be the most fun I've had on the way to the movies, ever. Except the times when Erin is feeling flexible enough to make it around the stick for the transfer case and the gear box...

Whats that, like 4 MREs ?? :D

I'm Canadian, and live in BC. Wi have heavy rain here, and tons of snow too. I;d pull out the lawnchair, send the wifey and kids for BBQ Chicken and some beers, put my toque on and relax nekid in the storm!

Mostly Eat-More bars...I'm not planning on living in the truck forever after all! I figure 2-3 days worth of food in the truck is enough unless I am way out in the bush, in which case I usually have 5-7 days' worth.

this thread is a purely hypothetical set up.

you are in your car on your way to a movie...RIGHT now...and the heaven's open up and the wrath is unleashed. it is natures worst ever...a 10000 year storm!!! the guy on the radio says its like that movie with dennis quaid!!!

you are el-stucko. in the middle of the highway and 5 miles from any structures and shops.

all you have is what is in your car right now. (and i mean right now...this will tell us how many of you are truly prepared or just think you are.( i am the i think i am guy).)

its raining hurricane style and 15 degrees outside.... you have your better half and any dependents with you...pets or kids or both even.

WHAT DO YOU DO..

do you seek shelter...?
where do you seek it?
what helpful items do you have on you right NOW. ( i cant stress this enough!)
are you going to be able to get assistance or are you on your own...?

tell us how you will prioritize and react.

If a storm like that was coming, it would have been all over TV and radio and you would have known about it in advance. Since you chose to go out in it anyway, you are probably too stupid to save yourself.
