I will have to disagree on the orange micarta slabs, black will look better IMO...

Oh some Amboyna Burl/Redwood Burl slabs would be sweet

Any wood slabs would look sweet! I'm fond of the Black Ash Burl too. I have a set on a Backwoods custom that are the sickest thing I've seen in awhile!!
 
Alright guys,

Here's the poohbah on the "Tweeners":

Steel: 1095CV epoxy P-coated
Handles: Grivory handles to start out. I'm sure micarta will become available...maybe some other matl's and colors will follow.


As the Big E mentioned, the patterns and handle shapes will be different (ie; better)than the original prototypes.

I get that it is paint Bladdy, but it looks like it is cracking as opposed to showing the usual wear and tear from use and testing. Just curious. I like the non-recurve one the best I think. All the way to the right in the pic of all of em. What happened to the other ones that were in the original pic?
 
Some how missed the bit about the catalog coming out and prices going up. :(

May have to stock up while I can. Will be cool to see what new knives there are.
 
How much higher is the price going up, the low price tag was the draw of Becker knives at least for the broke and busted like me

If a bk2 is going to go from $60 to $100 I think I may be out
 
Think about it like an annual cost of living expense. Things go up, people need raises, material costs more. Becker Knife and Tool have always been about the most value for your money, not to worry, it won't be a bank breaker.

I kind of doubt it'd be that much. $60 to $70 maybe? No clue on my part, just a guess. Can't make a jump like you suggest without losing a lot of customers, so they probably wouldn't do that unless they absolutely had to.

When it comes down to it, would paying even $80 for the bk2 be all that bad? You'd still be getting a great knife.
 
Becker knives are a great deal for the price.
Most of us pay a wide variance in price anyway( $60-80).
So stop worrying. Ethan seems like a square guy.
If Becker knives cost $150, someone show me one they wore out and didn't get their moneys worth.

KA-BAR's best guess is 2012, maybe a late 2011 intro. We are still at prototype stage.
Sorry for the long waits but Ethan has to wait in line just like all of our designers.
We like Ethan but we also like Bob Dozier, and John Benner and Steve Johnson and Peter Janda too. Then there's me. I like to get some designs in also....and I'm the biggest PITA of the bunch. ;)
I'm sure Ethan will have some words about this but that's the way it is. We are all learning patience.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop, Toooj. It gives us something to look forward to. I guess in the meantime, I'll just have to round out my collection of currently available stuff!! :D

So count me as VERY curious as to over all length (that's what she said? :foot:), know its 'Tween' the 11/14 & the 2, buuuut... :confused:

Right now the EDC is a cross draw bk-11 horizontal on the belt, wondering if this would be too bulky for a similar set up.
