The unofficial, non binding, carries no weight, 2020 forum knife possibility discussion thread

Just on the blasphemousness....using it for work would not imo be blasphemy, However
Owning a knife with a caplifter and not using it to open a beer ...that would be blasphemy and the guilty sinner shall be cast into the eternal torture of Hell !....or as it is known in various circles.....Meakoland !

Buck used to run some really nice smooth, white bone handled fixed blades for Bass Pro Shops - discontinued several years - but surely they could still offer that choice. OH

I was going to point out that the mod said if Buck does it it will be a fixed blade, and GEC hadn't said what if anything they'd be willing to do, but that was a long time ago, and things might have changed. Anyway, this is still a fantasy thread.

I could go for something in the 100 line like a Woodsman or Personal. On the other hand, I've always coveted the 124. On the third hand, a 124 is a lot like my Catt 225 Q, so...

Maybe if we have a next forum knife it will be 2020-2021.

I’ve been out of the loop on this thread but have just been reading through and catching up. Lots of good stuff in here! Whatever the choice is, I’m in for 2, as usual. In case anyone’s keeping track. :)

Any word from officialdom if there is going to be a 2020 knife, and what (if any) our options are from Buck or GEC?

At the moment we are listing heavily on the Buckside.....GEC seems to be floating in our wake...as does the Armada of other makers.
Admiral@abbydaddy :
Where be ye Buckaneers?
Oarsman: On ye side of ye buckan 'ead!
:D

Seems like the wind has picked up our sails once more...Now pull ye brutes !Row for your lives! The treasure awaits us.

In all seriousness, if ever there was a year for a fixed blade from Buck, this is it. Buck has kept their lines running, and a fixed blade should avoid a lot of the inevitable QC complaints that a bunch of... highly particular customers like ourselves have for a slipjoint.

I mean, I know that there are plenty of Buckan seas and reefs left to navigate before we can make land this year. But a Buck fixed blade seems to be our best chance of finding a safe port in this Hurricane Corona!

Avast ye!

That's a beaut. Maybe with blue liners? Or maybe I should just drop the BF theme. :D

Wait fer me lads! I'm still afloat but it seems I be row'n in circles...

Funny
Night Rider Night Rider lets say you are at a job and the client is a wealthy man....say for instance a brewing magnate.....he offers you a cold beer at the end of your days work....you must accept in order to curry his favour perhaps leading to more work....but he has no bottle opener! You deploy your trusty non workdelrin 14 ....it then becomes a work tool and Hey Presto... you are absolved and forgiven for your blaspheming.
.
Funny you you mentioned that scenario meako because I just recently worked late into the night finishing up a high end coffee shop for the son of a colombian coffee plantation owner and he did insist that my partner and I indulge in a cold beverage at the end of the night. He had his own bottle opener but I did have to break out my Klein to unbox his coffee roaster Lol. Not very sexy but it got the job done :(
