Guys....GUYS. Do you realize the REAL excitement here? So, in 2019, there the bolstered and capped 86s, and the BF 86 was a barehead. So, maybe this new run of "regular" 86s will ALL be bareheaded!! How awesome would...say, a bareheaded Cocobolo 86 single (or coping secondary, I'm not picky) blade be??

Thank you Aryan29, having been here 4 years I never knew this. Is this written somewhere?
During 2019 polls it was:
Member at least 3 months prior to the poll date, and 30 posts spread over the forum.

It will be mentioned as an eligibility/requirement at the sign up stage in a new thread, was done in past couple of years.
Thanks

Post count here, or on Bladeforums at a whole?
I’d love one of these because it’s a great frame and it represents Bladeforums.

Why would that make you sad? Why wouldn't people who are contributing members of this community take precedence over others who do not participate, or who seemingly only show up whenever a new knife is announced? Not trying to be condescending or insulting, but I don't quite understand your point of view.

I misunderstood a post from a quite prominent figure here and took it as if only a very exclusive group of BF members would get access to this 2021 BF knife. Obviously, that saddened me but I am happy that this is not the case. We're here because of knives, right?
You see, I recently discovered BF. I believe that I participate and contribute to this forum/the porch :) albeit my knowledge of traditional folders is slim compared to the expert level I can see so many, many other members show on the subject. I'm enthusiastic and still learning and I guess a bunch of other new members are too. I get that with the growing popularity of GEC there could be some that will join BF only to get hold on a forum knife but to insinuate that new-comers is just up to that is a bit too much.

Edit: I'm not trying to be condescending either. If it seems like that we are starting a heated discussion it is most likely just the excitement rollin' through this thread.

Thanks bud, I’m hoping the rules are somewhat similar this year, but I hope that there is some sort of preferential treatment for the people that gather here more often than people like myself.

So technically, that won't be the case. To clarify, it won't be a select few, and if you continue to be a part of this community, then well, you're a part of this community and you'll make some new friends! It's a win for you, and a win for us.

I think this may be a mystical test, inasmuch as anyone who truly desires the knife is disqualified from getting one, and if you do not want the knife then you can purchase as many as you wish.

I am neither new here nor a high post count contributor, but, chime in when I have something constructive to say, something to add, or can pass on some of the knowledge that I have gleaned here over the past 9 years. I have contributed in the official Form Knife threads for the past three or four years and enjoy it immensely. I have not always liked the outcome, but, contribute and buy the knife that the forum choses in the spirit of camaraderie, I love this place. Life has changed and I do not have the same amount of time as I once had to view the porch, but, hope to be able to participate this year in both the forum knife and every day porch discussions. I do not know what prompted me to write this, but, I have seen some the discord and change in this forum and I too hope that the spirit of this forum remains.

Every once in a while somebody comes along and tries to weed out the undesirables. I'm proof positive these ideas don't last long.

The way I remember the "no more SFOs from GEC" is, no more knives stamped with a company name other than GEC's, but club knives would still be a possibility.
I do believe you're right..."club knives" were still on the table when they nixed SFOs. I would assume the BF knife would fall under the club knife category.
