Just wanted to share my experience with Mr. James Mattis and Chai Cutlery.

For a person with self proclaimed "eccentric business hours" James' service rivals that of quite a few full time dealers. You see, Mr. Mattis has a regular job besides his cutlery gig, but you'd never know it from his response time and corteous manner. His prices and selection are good, and he's an all around knowledgeable guy.(sp?)

Another thing worth checking out before your next purchase is the "Good Karma Cut", which in my opinion is an excellent idea and brings an added sense of satisfaction. Good Karma, indeed. Go find out more for yourself at http://www.chaicutlery.com

For those of you forum newbies who have yet to discover Chai Cutlery- do so- you really won't be disappointed. At the very least, his site is a great read!

Thanks! Just bear in mind that I don't always get it right. One guy just got annoyed and cancelled an order because I didn't keep him informed when the goods I said would get here any day now turned out to be "any week" instead, and I wasn't on top of it. Win some, . . . learn some.

James should be everyone's "first call" for knife shopping. Service? Top notch, of course. Price? Always competitive, of course. Service? Personal and friendly, of course.

But on top of the things you'd expect from any top-of-the-line knife dealer, James genuinely cares about you and your knives, he supports BF, and his "Good Karma Cut" makes every knife purchase a satisfying experience from the perspective of helping to do something good for someone else.

Keep it up, James!
