Not trying to start poop flying but, was it not Mr. Emerson who encouraged other pimpers to convert his knives? Was he losing too much money that way? Or does he not like the evolution the design has taken? Curious........
 
The Po'boys became so well-made that they were being re-sold as actual custom Emersons and people were sending them in to EKI for warranty work.
 
Plus there has been more and more realization at EKI of the value of the brand (and trademark). I believe that it has also been requested that the Emerson logo not be recreated/re-marked even though in the past permission was at time granted. I for one have no problem with Emerson protecting their work product and name.
 
If you were on the list with your custom order chances are those knives are still being made. Ernest hasn't taken orders in years. His backlog for customs is over 10 years. Hopefully you're still on that list unless you declined to wait any further. You CAN get a 6 from the secondary market and pay a premium or you can attend a show and enter the lottery. If your name is called (1st or 2nd) you can purchase a 6 for the table price of $700! Pretty good! The 6's are the first to go. There is also an AUCTION coming up in the next few days. Register online to bid. The LOTTERY is July 13th. Enter online but the knife will be chosen for you.

No, I am not going to pay the premium price. Not saying its not worth it but I won't pay it. Ever since I read "Rogue Warrior" all those years ago I have wanted one. I honestly don't know if my name is on that list anymore but the price was $475.00 then, I just never knew it would be this long a wait?
 
I still want a bunch of his knives though. At present, I haven't had any of his or anyone else 's for along while. Now that my kids are grown and out of the house maybe I will find some spare change laying around and get a couple.
 
If you call tomorrow Ron we can check and see if you're on the list. Up to you. I don't think anyone realized it would take that long. The orders just kept coming in.

I don't mind waiting, I just don't know if I am on that list anymore. Heck, I don't even remember how I had it ordered up.
