The Walking Dead Issue #100 release GIVEAWAY! Congrats, Havoc550!

Only thing I can think of after seeing the shake weight is "talk about an indian sunburn...honey its not a shake weight"

I originally started reading the TPB's when I was "forced" to hang out at the local comic shop on Saturdays. That was the only way I got to see my (at the time) fiancee. I made a few good buddies on my Saturday forays there. My closest friend to come from this turned me on to TWD TPB's as a way to sidetrack me from cleaning the dustbunnies from the shop, as that would drive the owner nuts. I have only gotten as far as TPB #4, which is right around where the new season is starting in October. The franchise gave me the chance to make a true friend, get into heated discussions about the series and gave us many chances to decide our best course of action in the zombie wars to come. Though I am happy to be where I am now, the TV series brings back fond memories of my days in the shop.

Out of the discussions in the shop, if I were bit (though it seems it is airborn anyway), after MUCH zombie killing by myself and my surviving group, it had been decided that my best buddy GDN, who turned me onto TWD, would be given my pink gun and "take me out".

lastly....my weapon of choice. The Aftershock! my go to knife, I love her.

 This was more difficult than deciding between ten pieces of INFI. Unfortunately I don't have the option to "just get them all" this time so

I was originally skeptical about The Walking Dead due to so many people liking it. Its usually been my experience that something that can appease the masses is usually watered down, politically correct and/or doesn't take an IQ of 85 to understand. I am glad I was wrong...

This is going to sound horrible, but seeing the opening scene on the very first episode did it for me. You know the scene where Rick head-shots that little girl by the abandoned traffic jam? I came off the chair yelling "WTF!!??". I mean seriously, in a zombie apocalypse, women, children and grandparents are going to die, there is no avoiding that. I appreciate that this point is alive in well in every episode. Walkers are not politically correct!!

And then there is the suspension of disbelief. Because the show is not all action with massive body count makes the situation that much more believable. When you are watching all the drama between the characters play out, it feels like the real deal in everyday life. That whole drama vibe makes the walker attacks extra scary and delivers a sense of dread not normally felt in horror films.

If I were bit, I would gather up all the explosives I could hold on my body and arm them with 3 triggers. One trigger for me, one trigger for someone in the group and a timer. I would basically head for the hotspot making as much noise as possible, gathering as many walkers around me as I could. When the time is right, I pull my trigger and take them with me to hell. Should I fall and basically lose the ability to pull the trigger and my group is close, they can pull theirs. Should I wonder around for too long and find no walkers to destroy or I start to change before I can gather them up, the timer goes off and my pain is over. The last thing anyone needs is one more walker to contend with.

For Busse zombie killing, you have to go with the Gladius. Two edges and heavy enough to chop; it will keep you alive longer than anything else. Given the thick blade, the cuts will open wide enough so the blade doesn't get stuck too easily in walkers. You can windmill the thing Conan style if ever backed into a corner. Should the blade dull, it will still break zombies open like a wedge. The Gladius will continue to serve others long after I'm dead.

Below is the Gladius and everything else a zombie killers needs: a paintball Mushroomhead zombie killing mask, a Kriss Vector and a Shake Weight. Even zombie killers need to keep those biceps from going flat.

DON'T HATE THE WEIGHT!

CONGRATULATIONS, HAVOC550!

People die fast in The Walking Dead, and it's very traumatic. I believe all the "boring" parts of the show help you learn more about the characters and their personalities. It makes it much more devastating when someone dies suddenly. Even if it's Dale, who annoyed us with his preachy morals, or Shane, who was violently losing his mind.

I think you described best my feelings as I read issue #100, so I hope you get something from it.

P.S. Nice Shake Weight :D and I'm only sorry I couldn't reward everyone who entered!

Thank you everyone!! And thank you uyotg!! I appreciate the giveaway requiring some thought and not being a random drawing. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate any giveaway, random or not, but this one was special.

For the record, the Shake Weight was given to me as a xmas gift by my loving brother whom some of you may have met at blade. Its not the worst gift he has given me or the hardest to post a picture of without getting banned. :)
