The Walking Dead

Agree with everyone else here, wasn't very impressed at all by this episode. Tyrese was my favorite character up until this, sad to see him go. That being said, I'm getting pretty sick of the whole search for a 'safe place' to live and raise a family. It would seem in a zombie apocalypse that nowhere would be safe enough to hole up in indefinitely, let alone the fact that you'd have to leave regularly (daily) in search of food. Your only option would be to become the most lethal group of nomads you could possibly be and hope for the best. Kinda makes the whole thing pretty cheesy for me at this point….

Well, that totally sucked!!!!:thumbdn: Very "artistic"the way it was done, but it still sucked!!!!:(

Hour long show about a guy getting his arm cut off and having hallucinations.. that keep saying the same thing. Snoozer. Not even sure if I care anymore.. They're probably saving the good plot lines for the spin off..

I've been thinking of watching the walking dead, I like a good zombie story. I went to my local dvd store the other day and picked up the cover of season 2 (i think) and noticed a bright orange thing on the cover.

Turns out one of the characters is using a Bear Grylls parang, I see Gerber are getting their two cents worth out of this film. Personally I would have picked another blade if I was fighting zombies but hey, if it works it works.

I was definitely a little disappointed in this episode. Hopefully the action picks up next week and we get to see the whole group. Tired of only seeing half the cast each week.

Not watching "Better call Saul" again either. That was a waste of an hour.

Bummer about Tyreese. He was a good character but a little to sensitive for a zombie apocalypse. Always dug his choice of weapon. A good ol' Estwing would make one heck of a war club.

For the first time ever, I walked away from a TWD episode thinking that the show wasn't very interesting at all. If it wasn't for the fact I was sitting drinking beer with a friend while I watched it, it would have been a complete waste of time.

The comic book version of the character, a strong charismatic leader, would have been excellent; the introverted sensitive usually useless waffler in the show was waste of time. I can forgive them for killing the character off, but not for airing such a dull episode.

They make hawks now too. :-) There's a Estwing factory about a block away from where I work, used to pick up brick hammers from them back when I was a brick mason.

I guess that I'll be the dissenting voice.

I enjoyed the episode. Nice send off for this character. It was all about him. Poetic? Yeah sure.... So what. This show attracts more than your usual "shoot them up" type of viewers. That's the beauty of it.

.... They'll be back to the gore soon enough;)

I'm losing interest. Have been a watcher of the walkers since the first season, but think the story line has played itself out. Only so much you can do with this set-up anyway. And...its just TV...;-)

I learned real quick to not get too excited about TWD and this episode was just rediculous to me. Not only was it too drawn out but 75% of that hour long episode seemed to be commercials.

Aw come on it was not so bad and there was tons of action, they lost Sophia, the hoard on the road scene, Carl got shot ...................wait I was watching the first few episodes of season two ;)

Yeah, I liked his hammer. You don't have to find ammo for it, sharpen it and there's no shortage of them lying around.

Yeah, I see where everyone is coming from, there is only so much you can do... They gotta end it before people get sick of it, nothing worse than a show that's "jumped the shark". There needs to be some resolution, too, no Tony Saprano in a diner and cut to black.

I liked the episode! Call me a girl but I was very emotional with Beth singing while Tyreese chose to either live or die. I really thought we were going to see a one armed Tyrese for awhile but I guess not. :(
I also got excited to see the Governor, it was a great "blast from the past" for me. I was hoping to see Hershel!

I agree with Lexi. I thought it was an interesting approach - we were in Tyreese's head while he was dying; and it aided in the character development, not just of him but of the general attitude that all the other characters were discussing in bits and pieces during the show. Think about it: they just went through a hellish, what....couple of months since the prison fell? They just lost a beloved character, Beth....they needed an opportunity for some introspection, to each figure out how it affected them. And you can't say it didn't have action or gore....loved the slow motion head explosion while they were carrying him out of the gate at the end!

They're going for a multi-dimensional show. I don't mind some of the slower parts, as long as they add to the story.

The slow motion exploding heads and some of the other action scenes were pretty cool, but it also seemed like there were more commercials than in previous episodes. I was just bummed out that another of the key characters was killed one episode after Beth! Are they going to "kill a character a week" until only Rick, Carl and Judith are left and then start with a whole new cast? As far as I'm concerned, they could kill Eugene and that would have been no big loss. But I had really grown to like Tyreese and was surprised when they killed him so soon after killing Beth.
