I'm in! I have been looking forward to taking whittling beyond the first set of small spoons I made. Other than knives, I enjoy fountain pens.

I think this has the makings for a nice thread.
Once you get your stuff in hand and start cutting, start a thread showing your first finished piece, and then as you do them, upload them to document your growth in skill.
Let us know what gives you trouble, what helped the most, little tips and things you picked up along the way.

I know all of this might be found in books, but it would be nice to see the growth occur in front of us, and I am sure you might like to look back on it too.

A drumstick sounds pretty good, or maybe if I'm good enough, a small drum set figure. :) For pun's sake, my ultimate goal for now is a nice boot made of Bubinga...a Bootbinga.
