The Wonderous Wharncliffe

Any hardware store that has a wash tub in the front window is my kind of place. Were I there, I too would be a "duster".

[wonderful thing, Google street view]

You went through all the trouble of bringing it up on goggle street view and did NOT bring a picture to share? shame on you :p

Here ya go....

Wow, now that's a hardware store!

We had a small one in the neighborhood growing up, it's gone now. :( As a kid I remember looking at all the knives in the display case wishing I could have one. Kids pretty much don't have that anymore, they look at video game consoles on the internet. At least when I gave my sons their first knives they were pretty excited after doing their 'Whittlin' Chit' in Cub Scouts. So many kids will never have that experience...

AKC, very nice finds!

I need a coupla more wharncliffe's too ~P :D

I really like the Tango acrylics, and yours is the first I've seen of the #26 pattern. The guitar shield gets me every time even though I'm a better drummer than a guitarist.

I think this knife is utterly ridiculous, and am still surprised that I chose it over a more subdued alternative. It's not just my gaudiest knife, it's my gaudiest possession, period, with no other close contenders.

I'm still laughing at myself, and: enjoying the knife. :)

(In addition to my loving to play the guitar, guitar-making (as a parallel to knife construction) came up during my one-on-one tour with Pat Vroman, enhancing this knife's suitability as a souvenir of a happy day.)

Docta pleeeeze . . . wrong forum!

Ooops...my BAD! I entered through the opening page, and didn't realize this was in the Traditonal subforum. I'll dig around and see if I can find a photo of one of my traditional wharnys. I DO love wharncliffes.
Maybe in 50 yrs, the Yojimbo will be "traditional" :-)

You have repaid the kindness in full with that lovely picture of the Case. Very nice.
