What a choice trioBill made some great Serpentine Whittlers!!View attachment 2255034View attachment 2255036View attachment 2255038
This is actually my favorite #38 - the Willamette Whittler!!! Not really a whittler by today's definition, but a great every day carry!!!What a choice trioWhen you say Bill made some great Serpentine Whittlers you're not wrong
But despite my innate pessimism; (but I like being wrong on certain occasions..) I want to think Bill will YET make us some more! The 38 is a wonderful frame and there could still be some more Penknife type variations and further Whittlers to come. The future is always uncertain but it could be Traditional

Nice Schrades!!! When Schrade cataloged those, They gave tribute and called those shields "Empire" shields, because they are!!!!!! I am putting the same shield on my new HJs!!!When you can’t swing the Grinling $$$ I had the English whittler but missed the clip point, but these will do for me.
That’s the best stag version I’ve ever seen! Nice one, Charlie!Bill made some great Serpentine Whittlers!!View attachment 2255034View attachment 2255036View attachment 2255038
I’ve grabbed these up in the last year and love them. For $70 there is so much value in them. The red one came from a junk shop, no box and a small crack in the pile side bone but it’s solid. The green one has a bit of patina on one bolster that I’m sure I can polish off but ours not hurting anything so I’ll leave it. I also snagged one of these a bit ago and it’s great too. Three quality whittlers for under $300 is a steal if you ask me. The Mastercraft is just about the perfect size but has a pen blade over the small clip, I like the small clip. I’ll probably keep snatching up good whittlers though I love em.Nice Schrades!!! When Schrade cataloged those, They gave tribute and called those shields "Empire" shields, because they are!!!!!! Missing some pictures!!I’ve grabbed these up in the last year and love them
I was leaning back on those Schrades. Got the Mastercraft some time in between the red one and the green one.Missing some pictures!!
That sheepsfoot with swedge and long pull is one of my all time favorite blades. I’m glad GEC brought these back. Still looking for a vintage example.I got on a whittler kick recently. This was one of the more interesting ones I thought.View attachment 2244063

Case Classic Pattern Guide
There were 37 knife patterns manufactured in the early to mid 1990s that make up the original Case Classic line of knives. This page displays pictures and descriptions of most patterns you might encounter.www.allaboutpocketknives.com
I’ve been eyeing these for awhile, do you have a pattern number —3091? Hopefully yours is in there towards the bottom of the page.
While I’m here I’d like to thank you for the TC Barlow line. I’ve had the 14 in my watch pocket ~4 days a week since 2018. It’s such a handy little tool. Great blade length for such a small size!
Knives are enjoyed through use.My first whittler, a 1994 Case Classics 63055 serpentine @ 3 5/8”. I’m sure a few will wonder how I could use a 30 year old minty knife like this.
Well I wanted a case seahorse in carbon steel so badly and found this one so I decided to bite. It’s actually pretty affordable considering secondary GEC prices lately.
Anyway, after 20 minutes on the whetstone and paddles it’s slicey as hell! I also took a few minutes and modified one of the two pen secondaries into a coping type affair.
The pattern is more comfortable than I thought and excels in not only my amateur carving but also in the kitchen —how else do we get that rainbow patina— and garden.
Lastly, does anyone know of these Case Classics were made of 1095 or CV? I know it’s Queen made in the Howard era.
