"THE WORLD of ART KNIVES" Vol. IV is AVAILABLE !!

David -- I see you are looking for other ideas for books. How about one dedicated to makers from a variety of different countries? Italian, German, Russian, Scandanavian, Aussie, Africa, Canada etc. I like others, have a dozen of your books already and would love to see more.

David, your books changed my life.
Thank you for everything!

Lorien my friend! This is the nicest thing anyone said to me, related to my books!
I did my best and enjoyed every minute of this exciting 14 year journey and your words
renewed my strength and motivation to plan one more volume, my most important
but also my most amazing ever!!

Hello Murray! I have tried my best to involve as many world-class knife makers
from all over the world in every one of my 12 large volumes (so far :)) and shall
continue to do this even more in the book-of-books I am now planning which will
probably be an amazing overview of knives and knife related arts
of the 21st century!!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Hello Murray,
My not responding to your idea of a new "stand alone" volume does not
mean that I have not been checking this out.... Now a few months later
I am liking this more and more!

The only problem is that I shall have to choose only about 125-130 makers
and to devote at least 2 pages to each, and that is only a drop in the sea....

I shall think about this some more and decide soon as my fingers are
really itching to get back to "work"....

Thanks and all the best!
David Darom (ddd)

I am still thinking about/planning my next book and checking
the practical possibilities of one more AMAZING original volume....

It is not an easy process as it has to be an original....

NORDICKNIVES.com still has copies of my two latest books:
"The World of Art Knives" Vol.III... and "The World of Art Knives" Vol.IV

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

a book on 'sculptural knives' would be fascinating. All your books include knives of this sort, but a volume devoted entirely to them would be really interesting

Hello Lorien! There will for sure be a section on Sculptured Knives in the book
in which I plan to cover most trends and design categories in modern knife making...

BTW what did you think of my latest book, which I consider my best so far?

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

David -- another possibility would be to do knifemakers by the decade of when they began etc and include knives from various decade in which they produced knives and thus included could be old time makers who are no longer either alive or making knives as this would help educate newer collectors who just don't know the history of knives and knifemakers as well as provide nice knives for old time (we geezers) to view

Thanks Murray! Suggestions like yours are being brought into consideration
and will really help me create an overview on modern custom knives covering
a period of 50-60 years.... If I can pull it off.... :)

The thought of planning getting the relevant material and creating such a volume
in the quality I am used to, makes this a truly daunting task!

I am beginning to fear that it may be too pretentious...

I wish I could answer that question, but unfortunately I have not seen it. That being said, the books that I do own have provided me with a potential lifetime of study!

Well, Lorien, my latest book is way beyond all that you have seen so far....
You, a designer of knives, more than anyone else will benefit from what I
have put together here... I am tempted to send you a copy but have very
few left with me as, this time it was a very limited printing...

For you it is surely worth every $$..... :)

Stay well!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

The limited edition of "The World of Art Knives" Vol.IV
is still available from: NORDICKNIVES.com

NORDIC KNIVES has now also obtained copies of 2 volumes of my
first series of Custom Knife books, of the ORIGINAL high quality
printings!

One of these books "The Art of Modern Custom Knifemaking" displays
in full color 100 knife making processes and is a very sought after volume
that not long ago sold for $600 on Amazon.... I never saw any money
from these and had to be satisfied with only a "pat" on my ego.... :)
