The worst knife you have?

I haven't owned a whole lot of knives, but one that was particularly bad was my SOG flash ii. Ridiculously soft steel that took an awesome edge in seconds, but lost it ridiculously fast too. The handle was entirely plastic, and had no steel liners or anything of the sort. Very poor build quality. Compared to the Leek it replaced, that was lost to the TSA and was actually cheaper than it, it was pure junk. I ended up returning it and just spending the extra money for a Benchmade Emissary. That's a good knife.

Some crappy knives i bought before i ever encounter bf...

But if i should mention a brand, it was kershaw scallion. The thing is uncomfortable in my hands and i hate recurves on little knife such as scallion.

the usmc ka-bar, i have broken 4 of them til now. poor design in my opinion, keep breaking at the holt area.

My worst would be a knock-off of the AGR one hand folder that came in a lot buy. Doesn't open for crap, and closes about the same. I can't say what the steel is like because I would never, ever try to use it or carry it. I'm thinking about destroying it in effigy value really like all my real A G Russells.

You can send it to me! I will be sure to... Uh... Destroy it. Yeah, destroy it... I have wanted one of the AGR One-hand knives for a while but I missed all of the cheap ones, and I don't have $100-some odd to drop into a knife I want to try the design on and know it doesn't have excellent trade value.

Worst knife I have had is my Gerber Paraframe. Just garbage, lockbar is about 1/8" too long to have any lock, it is just a detent friction folder. As the for the worst I wanted and then hated... Cold Steel Spartan. Stupid design, heavy as a brick, impossible to sharpen, came with a retardedly obtuse edge (about 70° inclusive), didn't open easily, tore my thumb up to close... Need I go on?

Hah, my friend was telling me how she bought one of those, carries it, and that it's her "baby". She didn't know who Spyderco or Benchmade were when I mentioned them, and considered Cold Steel to be "garbage" because "they're kind of like, weapons", despite that she was bragging to me about how she used her 06 to "scare some dudes".
Those dudes that were scared must not have know that the steel Gerber used in these doesn't get sharp:p

I'm sure there is a newer thread than this, but found this one from Google and had to state my worst knife:

Gerber Instant

On mine, the torsion bar is so strong (it is intended for assisted opening) that I can't single hand deploy it without losing skin on the stud. I think I could disassemble it and file down the torsion, since neither loosening pivots (that wanted to strip) nor lubing the torsion bar and pivot would heal the wrongs. Probably a quality control issue, but it was a bonus with my factory dull Gerber Gator Kukri and was a gift, so I still have it (and despise it) to this day.

Also my first pocket knife: Gerber Evo (2.75" tanto, partially serrated). Blade came pretty dull and at the time I couldn't put a good edge on it, clip snapped off after a couple months, horrible sideways blade play and the screw stripped when I tried to adjust it, lock failure with a pound or two of static force and I could bend the un-lined aluminum front handle all the way to where it touched the liner on the other side with my bare hands. Hammered the blade into a tree in the woods after I got a Kershaw Skyline for a long-term rust test and then forgot where it was.

Fixed blade: TOPS MSK, which wouldn't even come out of the sheath without the aid of a hair dryer, and still sports green-black G10 scales with red liners.

Folder: Kershaw Cryo II, which was such a poorly built flipper that they had to add an assist… and it still sucks. Just a big slab of 8Cr13MoV slabbiness that won't stop slabbing and won't flip as much as it will swiiish-thlunk.

Tied with

Byrd Tern, came dull out of the box with a backspring too stiff for me to open it one-handed. My first and only Byrd; not enthusiastic about buying another. (I will, of course, continue to buy Spydercos like the world's ending.)

The biggest piece of junk knife i ever had was a Schrade cliphanger.

I'll probably get hate for this but my Kershaw Cryo is just lousy. After 2 weeks of carry the spring broke, it developed blade play that couldn't be remedied, and it just too heavy.

My first knife was one of those fancy flea market knives. I locked myself out my camp and tried to use it pry open the window. Blade broke in half and my hand almost went through the window.. On the plus side it started me on the path to buying decent knives. I also don't use them as pry bars anymore.

An mtech equivalent that I coulda put a string on the blade and had a bow because I stabbed at a tree blade slipped bent into a u and went straight when I released pressure

Cmon man ain't the swish thlunk the best part I mean really who doesn't like carrying a pocket of steel bolted to steel using steel

Knockoff SAKS are the worst. Which is weird, because even cheapo Winchester slip joints and the like, are actually serviceable. I am given them as gifts, come Christmas time, and birthdays, because people know I collect knives.

I keep em in a shoebox in my closet, because I think it's rude to toss out gifts, or re gift.

One time, a cousin who I don't really see that often, asked me if I still have the knife he gave me at Christmas. I said usually all the time, but not today, as the knife finally got dull. TBH I don't even remember what it was.

I have gotten some nice Bucks a few times.

The worst knife I ever had was a switchblade maked AK47 CCCP. The thing was dull, locking system came busted, the whole thing smelt of poor iron and the button fell off in a few hours.
The spring was insanely strong though... was always afraid it would take my finger off.

I sold it in a batch of cheapies for 1/4 of what I paid for it.

Another crappy knife was a Kershaw ET knock-off branded Columbia. The thing looked cool and took a nice edge but boy was it heavy, fiddly to hold and if you tried to close it, it would cut your finger...

PS: Photos off the web, not sure if I still have photos of the originals.

SOG SlimJim XL wins hands down. Ignoring the flimsy construction and the lousy assist, the biggest problem was the absolutely awful lock. If I didn't put the manual safety on every time, it would disengage pretty much consistently and try to close on my fingers. After the last time when it cut me to the bone, I retired it. Haven't bought any SOG products since, with the exception of their cheapo hawks cause they're just too fun to pass. That thing makes my CRKTs look like a ZT.

Oh and my Svord Peasant deserves a honorary mention because when it arrived, the wooden scales smelled so bad I had to toss them and make new ones. Not a big deal though, it was rather funny actually. *opens box* *sniffs air* "I don't know what it is, but it smells dead."

Worst knife currently owned would be my Opinel No. 8 Slim. It came with no edge on it whatsoever. I made hundreds of passes on my SharpMaker just to get it to cut paper. The biggest problem, though, is that I have to use pliers to open it. It's never gotten wet or used outdoors, but the wood is so tight on the blade that I don't even bother with it. I don't have any of these issues with my No. 8 Carbone, though. For $10, I can't be too upset.

Worst knife ever owned would be a knock off of a CRKT K.I.S.S. It broke in half after 3 months.

Well, there is that, and it is "blackwashed," but... no. I guess I was really looking for a budget XM-18, and this thing turned me off even that.
