The Yvsa Special is here and SPECIAL it is! Pix and sign up time.

Tom,

Looks nice. I'm even more interested in what you dangled in front of us: a utilitarian model. A hammer finish, steel furniture, and wood handle. Since this would be a user, I would hope the handle inlays would go as well. I like the star though.

What can I say? It's sweet. I think I'll have to have one!!

Uncle, you have mail!

That's wonderful

I suppose this one could be considered one of the new thinner khukuri's from Birghorka?
Just sitting here wondering what it would've been like if Sher had made it or Kumar, or Bura, or any of the other fine Birghorka kami's?
I am very proud, can you tell?

¥vsa, I cried when I saw this khukuri. That it came out so well for one of the nicest people here in the forum. Dang, there go the waterworks again.

Very nice Yvsa! Love the karda and chakma design. Good protection for the hand with the bottom guard.

Uncle Bill,

Log me in please.

Yvsa if I tried to compliment you and this khukuri it would not be eloquent enough, but--it automatically became an heirloom to be used, loved and passed on when I saw it.

Very impressive bro! I love that fullered blade design as well as the brass and copper inlays. The handle inlays aren't my thing but they sure do look good. I am anxioulsly awaiting your report! (but not as anxiously as you are awaiting your blade!!!!)

You know, I've been wanting to order a 15"-18" Gelbu Special with a wooden Chainpuri style handle for a long time now but I am now having second thoughts. This model with a wooden Chainpuri handle, steel mounted and not so beautiful might be my perfect carry/ user knife. Couple it with a kydex shieth from Edgeworks and....... oh my! I'm having "evil" thoughts.

Anyway, beautiful knife bro. The kardas and the awl are the perfect finishing touch to what looks like a perfect blade. You sure you've never been to Nepal?

I don't believe that I've ever seen a blade near this beautiful in all my life. It looks like kind of a cross between a GRS and a UBE. The star keeper is a nice touch, and those accessories are downright awesome. I would like to see all of the HI models have tools like those. I'd gladly pay a little extra $ to have those included with the rigs. Man that is pretty... As Greg said,

. Uncle, any chance of getting this blade only, or maybe mounted in steel, like others have mentioned. I think that this one needs to be two, one to put under glass, and one to kick some #%$!!! (Sorry, but this is an occasion that warrants the use...)

. What more can I say but "woooooooooowwwwww!!!!!"

Definitely in the WOW category...
Great job Yvsa and Sanu
I'll also have to wait a bit though...
Tom

I have you logged, Greg.

If pretty does as well as pretty is then this will be a dynamite performer. But we'll have to wait and see what Yvsa says. I didn't want to mar that finish by chopping anything so I have no idea what this knife is going to do.

Bro, what took the weight down was those fullers.

If I ever got one of these, I'd like it to be 3/8" thick. I know I'm nitpicking over a 1/16" difference, but I want my khukuris at least 3/8".

BTW, Congratulations Ysva. I know you will enjoy your khukuri.
