Theft of slipjoint #041 FOUND IT, I,M AN IDIOT

Glad it showed up, Bruce. That's probably the best possible outcome from having this problem. :)

Well, I'm an Idiot! I found it in my ditty bag inside a Ricola bag. I must have hid it there myself. Now I feel like such a fool and have to call everybody back and eat crow. At least I didnt make an absolute ass of myself and was calm when discussing this to the authorities and representatives.

Thanks everybody for your condolences. So sorry to raise suspicions toward the innocent. This does restore my confidence in the system. The folks I talked to are paid to be civil to their customers and they were very nice and professional. No cuss words were exchanged from me or them.

A more humble Bruce now

This is the best possible outcome Bruce! Glad its found, and as you said you kept your head, so don't feel embarrassed.

When I fly with knives, I do the rolled in a sock, stuffed in the shoes method too, for smaller knives.

Glad you found it!

I am happy for the good news. Everyone has made a mistake like this at some point.

As I get older . . .

well, they say that the memory is the second thing to go.

I forget what the first is.

I heard that if you boil that crow for about 3 hours in flat beer it's a little easier to chew. :)
Glad you found it Bruce. That restores my faith in humanity!

Glad it all turned out ok, it takes a big man to fess up when he was wrong, I've had similar situations happen to me, it's amazing how fast we add 2 & 2 together and come up with 6 only to do the math later and find out you were wrong.

When I was doin' a lot of travelin' right after 9/11 I found if ya use the TSA approved locks they don't have to cut 'em off and this keeps the luggage locked through out more of the baggage handlin'. If you use your own lock they cut the lock and then every person who touches your bag had an opportunity to root around in your bag.

Hey Bruce just chalk it up to another one of those senior moments, it happens, but don't ask me how I know. ;). Glad you found it.

Bill

It does take a man to admit his wrongs.

This is kind of a big one, many, many people were alerted to this issue, and there were some accusations made that turned out to be false.

The take away from this is one that many of us, myself included, need to remember and implement....STOP, take a breath, go through EVERYTHING, and do it again.

For me, after SHOT, I couldn't find my Shure headphones, and almost ordered a new set from Amazon....they cost $100.00....instead, I went through everything 3x, and found them in a side pocket of my briefcase I hadn't checked the first 2x....that saved me some money, and it would have saved Bruce a lot of heartache.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Bruce,

Speaking from personal experience as the years go by, we should begin to be
aware that it is getting more and more difficult to find things that we hide away
or stash somewhere.

So don't feel bad about what happened. It probably will happen again (I hope not) but
for next time you are already pre-warned...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

The best part about all this (beside you still having your knife), is all the valuable info you've gained to prevent this from really happening in the future. Glad you found the knife.

I can definitely relate. My senior moments multiply, it seems, every year.

Bruce, glad you found that folder.

Bruce it called having "OT disease"

"Old Timers"

We hope to avoid it but pretty much guaranteed everyone ends up with it.

Bruce I am glad you found it. It is nice see that there are men that can admit a mistake. But at least I did find a lot of other things on Craigslist like a three legged goat.

Chris

I am glad you found it Bruce!
I had to stop asking my wife where she put my things. It usually ended with me inserting my foot in my mouth when I found where I left it. :o

Good to hear you found it Bruce,I still have'nt found some tube set garnets that I hid from myself a few months ago!

I call that putting it "somewhere GOOD." I put things there all the time, like "it makes sense for this to be put here, that way I'll remember- or at least, it will be safe" ...so many of my things end up being "safe" from me, for varying periods of time!

Glad you found that. Wish the same thing could happen for Ken Onion after all this time.
