Theoretically Speaking...(maybe not?) Which Becker do you choose for Zombies??

I just got done reading news of 4-5 incidences in Miami of people stripping naked and eating peoples faces. The one that made national news even said that the guy wouldn't stop after being shot....and had to be shot 5-6 more times. Now, the CDC website has a "Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness Comic Book" (yes, a .gov site!) and Illinois is running "Click it or Ticket" commercials detailing the importance of seatbelts when attacked by Zombies. WTF?

Maybe Kabar was onto something? Not sure whether to laugh or scratch my head. But anyway, Just for the fun of it...Lets say for just a moment that the stuff happening in florida starts spreading. Which Becker is your go-to Zombie blade? I'm betting "Machax" is what most would say.

All I was thinking when I read all these news stories was "Damnit! I traded my BHK machete!!" Looks like Becky the BK9 is up front now.

Well, the RBK looks like it would take a head clean off without any trouble. But seeing as I don't have one I'd have to say the 9. With that I'd probably try to cleave the skull of the zombie. Wouldn’t go all the way through, but more than far enough to destroy the brain. Both the RBK and the BK9 would be great for general utility stuff as well. If I could choose stuff that aren’t beckers as well I'd go for a tomahawk with a good back spike and the BK7. Tomahawk for easy zombie killing and the 7 for everything else.

I don’t know but here are some of my reasons for each one:

BK3: Pry open anything, smash zombie's faces in, pretty versatile I suppose...Downside is it isn’t pointy so you'd have to go for a full on chop.

BK9: Legendary...That is all. Size might be an issue though it tight spaces.

BK7: Based of the mythical Ka-Bar fighting knife, pointy.

BK6: Machetes and zombies…Like butter and toast…Meatballs and spaghetti?

BK5: Grim reapers toothpick…

RBK: The khukri was adopted after an officer saw a farmer take off a goats head with one swipe of his khukri…Need I say more?

I wouldn’t consider the 11, 13, 14…Since zombies don’t feel pain I doubt you’d get enough penetration to actually kill them.

Cant be bothered talking about the rest but I supose they'd still be a decent choice.

Naked people (for the most part) don't bother me. As far as face eating goes, it has been scientifically proven that a half dozen full house .357 hollow points are an effective appetite suppressant.

Oh, and an RBK would go a long way toward curing that craving for nose, eyebrows...etc. I would think.

Well theoretically, Becker BK6 Patrol Machete (14" blade, I'd like to keep my distance).....

I have a few good years of knife fighting training behind me, and in my personal knowledge and experience, I would take a bK-5 over all of the other Beckers.

Just read another article where the officer sfirst shouted for him to stop, and he looked up and growled like an animal, then started eating again. First shot didn't stop him. 5-6 shots including a head shot finally did him in.

I don't use my SOG Tactical Tomahawk for much...but I might have to keep it now. I wish the BK6 was in production!

I was gonna say the longer the better, but after MKK's entry, I'm just gonna do what he does. And I've already got one.
(but might need a Machax for backup)

that and i'm thinking my .30-30 with 150gr sierra flat points would be good zombie medicine.

Of course if I were trapped in a big zombie city, that kel-tec .22wmr pistol that holds 30rds (plus a few boxes) and one of their folding .223's would probably be the most compact firepower for the weight and volume. Gotta get over the bridges before they're all closed by the military, right?

Big rounds = big holes = splattered brains.

I'm going with RBK, BK6, BK9. In that order.

Back that up with some 12ga goodness, Mossberg style, throw in a 10/22 that can hit an eyesocket at 150yds, I'm gonna love it when the season opens.

:D

I love zombies. And knives.

This is too fun not to throw down on,
Clearly, they can hear, so not drawing them with a bunch of noise is crucial! And, despite the reports of multiple shots to drop these Zed's I'm betting that undead skull is soft.

20+yards, scoped .22 with field expedient "quiet maker"

10 yards or so: "King on a stick" -- A Bk-9 spear to pin them down or to a tree or somesuch, then a BK-5 to carve the pumpkin, so to speak.

Melee range: Machax or patrol machete for beheading, no stabbing near the probably infectious teeth in an uncontrolled environment. Might have to disable by hacking off a few limbs first.

Don't forget a Tyvek suit, filtered facemask, and thick gloves to prevent infection! We don't know how it's transmitted yet!

An old pic of my zombie setup. Cheness Tenchi, Mossberg 12ga, BK9, Colt pistol, hammer, and Izula.

HA! hahahahahahahahaha!

Framing hammer is brütal! and imo, a good choice: good handle length and plenty of mass, if you straightened the claw out, GG.

(Still laughing at the visual of Moose hammering in a skull) --we should make this into a film.

The Dead On Annihilator is my hammer of choice.

I don't have one of those. That framer is the biggest I got, that can be swung with authority. I have a Mjolnir type 4lb hammer, but swinging it with accuracy, not gonna happen too many times, before fatigue starts to setup.

Now, here's my thinking on the framer, if you got into a spot and needed to bash some domes, its gonna work, if you need in an abandoned house, it will get you in, and allow you to board up your entry point, and the rest of the windows. Everyones zombie kit, should have 16penny framing nails. Just sayin.

Sick! I love zombies, or at least daydreaming about the impending zombie apocalypse. Need more pics of your guys' setups to inspire me! Just a BK9 for now... would I survive??? :p

I like how you think, Moose. I was fantasizing about a katana as well, the only long blade I'd have any hope of wielding with any utility.

Agreed on avoiding stabby-stabby. Don't wanna get stuck. If it gets near you, lop it off.

RBK and Patrol Machete seem like the go-to Beckers. Having neither of those, I'll be reaching for one of the many khukuri or swords in my house. Stabbing doesn't do squat to a zombie, if I recall my zombie mythology correctly, so it's gotta be something capable of removing limbs and heads in one fell swoop. The pudao would probably get used as well.

And guns, but that kinda goes without saying.
