Theoretically Speaking...(maybe not?) Which Becker do you choose for Zombies??

I was gonna say the longer the better, but after MKK's entry, I'm just gonna do what he does. And I've already got one.
(but might need a Machax for backup)

that and i'm thinking my .30-30 with 150gr sierra flat points would be good zombie medicine.

Of course if I were trapped in a big zombie city, that kel-tec .22wmr pistol that holds 30rds (plus a few boxes) and one of their folding .223's would probably be the most compact firepower for the weight and volume. Gotta get over the bridges before they're all closed by the military, right?

I'd rather the FN Five.Seven and a P90. Quicker followup shots and the round will destroy the brain as it tumbles. Plus, the P90 has 50 round mags. Granted the ammo is a bit harder to find than 223 but Its a great zombie round.

As for Beckers, I'm a further is better kind of guy so the BK4 is about what I would choose.

RBK first and a .22, You can haul around a couple hundred rounds of 22 a lot easier than something else. Being that you will be outnumbered about 500 idiots to one i'm going out with style.

Someone catch my RBK when it lands

Was watching "Stargate SG-1" on Netflix last night, and it looks like they just upgraded from HK MP5 to the P90. With a laser and a light, thats a nice ass gun! And like you said, the standard 50 rnd mags are a plus.

I'm wondering why more people haven't picked the BK2 as a close-in zombie skull-splitter? A last ditch option, granted, but I think I would go that routh before the ZK Death Dagger. BK6 is the obvious fave.

As for katanas...I recently handled my friends Katana (a real one, not a BudK special) and was surprised at how heavy it was. Michonne notwithstanding, a long machete might be the better choice, IMO.

Hopefull that sh** stays in florida and doesnt get up here!

I would have to go with my cold steel 1860 heavy saber. After watching a fat guy cleave a pig in to little pieces(bones and all) I was sold. plus I'm kinda partial to the saber being an old cavalry man

BK9 on one hip, BK4 on the other. Though these would probably be backup, my main weapon would likely be a pick, to drive deep into the skull with leverage.

I'd also keep my BK2 with me, but not for pickin off geeks.

I've had my Cheness Tenchi for about 8yrs now. Its by far the strongest monosteel katana available. You chop seasoned hardwood with it, seriously. Don't try that with a "true" Japanese Katana, it will break all to hell. Trust me on that. I still got the hilt and tsuba.

For dealing with anything that I don't want mauling me, zombies, critters, ex wives, stuff like that, I'll take as much steel between me and them as I can manage.

I been studying swordplay for most of my life, and its really interesting how, you can forget the weight, once you start practicing in earnest. I'm not a fan of some styles of swordplay, but even for a novice, a 3' long chunk of steel would do wonders against rotting walkers.

That's also one reason why I would want a BK9 with me, its like a short sword, kinda similar to the Roman Gladius, which I consider the height of a killing sword. With a BK9, you can chop off hands and jaws easily, but a short thrust through the neck into the spine, is just as effective as a round from any modern firearm. Plus, its lighter and easier to wield than the katana, but make no mistake, my katan is razor sharp, all the way down, and one simple mountain strike would split a zombie in twain, too easy. I'd have to be wary not to bury in in the asphault. As far as lopping off heads, um, well, that would be pretty easy too. I also think a quick thrust through the sinus's would have a good effect on them. And the small profile of the katana blade (1/3 the size of the BK9) slips pretty easily from ballistic gel, so.........

I don't have one of those. That framer is the biggest I got, that can be swung with authority. I have a Mjolnir type 4lb hammer, but swinging it with accuracy, not gonna happen too many times, before fatigue starts to setup.

Now, here's my thinking on the framer, if you got into a spot and needed to bash some domes, its gonna work, if you need in an abandoned house, it will get you in, and allow you to board up your entry point, and the rest of the windows. Everyones zombie kit, should have 16penny framing nails. Just sayin.

In addition to a Becker or three, you might also neede a Slingshot ZombieHammer with Skull Ejector:

After the firearms, chopping off a head or limbs seems like a good idea and I'd think it should be somewhat stabby too, but if this is something you're going to edc in the zombie world, it'll probably need to reasonably compact and versatile, especially if you're toting around a gun or two and extra rounds. Not sure the 6 would work too well for any of these except chopping. Seems like the 4 is compact enough and a great chopper but might be a little awkward when it comes to stabbing. I always thought a kukri would be great but some of them can get pretty heavy. I haven't really held one or seen the specs on the RBK but if it's anywhere near the size and weight of the Kabar black kukri, that should get the job done. After that, I think the 7 is just about perfect for a thrust to the head in close quarters.

Was it Murph that made the Becker Bayonet? I want one of those for my AR and 10/22. I since I hope I won't be doing bushcraft for the zeds the 14/11 are out. I refuse to make the undead a bowl to eat my brains from. My BK2 should be able to handle any of the close ones. The 9 can take care of the ones reaching through windows and such. IF I had them, dual Patrol Machetes would be amazing for about 4 minutes when my whirling Dervish attack wore me out.

Seems heavy. What's the weight on it? How well does it work for a hammer? :D

I like to see a lot of versatility in ma toolz, and not only can my 24oz Estwing framer scramble some noggin's, but it can build a helluva picnic table, inside my compound, which is encircled by my fence that my framer built as well. :D

Ever see those zombie movies where they all run to some house where the door is locked? Then, the scramble around outside for a few minutes, lose a couple in the group, before finally smashing through the window? Then, once inside, they start stacking up furniture and stuff to cover the hole they knocked in the window?

With my framer, I could bust the lock off the door in about 3 swings, then, inside, I could use the claw as a door stop, to keep the intact door closed, and secure, while the start finding some supplies to board up with. Break out my box of 16penny nails, and fortify the shit outta that abandoned house, until the morning, where as we all know, zombies dissolve in the daylight, we could use my hammer to unbarricade the door, and head out to our next destination.

Can your Annihilator do that? Could it? Huh? :D

You gonna get some custom kydex for that framer or would you just wear a carpenters belt with the hammer loop? :D

That framer does makes a lot of sense though. My universal key set is probably only appropriate if there's a vehicle involved -

3.5 lbs seems a bit much for a hammer, for drivin' nails, I means. :D

1.5lb Framer
3.5lb Annihilator

I'm takin' the Framer. Lighter and more uses. :D

Naw, just a hammer loop. Been using one for years, and its one of those things they got right the first time.
