Just wonderin, If you could have only one knife for the rest of your life, what would it be? Excluding multitools or SAKs Just plain old knife, fixed or folder, big or small, serrated or not, you get the point. Mine would be an Emerson Comander with the coated blade half serrated. I carry a knife for working and SD this would take care of both those needs. It is a nice big solid knife but still small enough to carry every day. Not to mention the fastest folder ever.:)

I'd have to say my Spyderco Endura with half serrations.

I just can't seem to kill it, and I usually end up carrying it even though I have many other knives to choose from.

BM AFCK bar none IMHO one of the best production folder for the money, now if I was on some of these other guys budgets that I've seen on this forum, I'd go with a Crawford or Elishewitz custom.

My Small Sebenza would be my choice. It is my favorite EDC, so it is up to almost any job.

For this one, I have to go with Shane45-1911, just a different model.

If this one knife had to do everything, obviously it would have to be strong. While not the strongest, MT products have more than enough strength. But it would have to be sharp for food preparation. And get this, it would have to have a delicate, but useful point for caping when hunting. I don't think the tanto SOCOM series has enough belly for skinning. Maybe the man using it might have the skil and patience.

I would go with the LCC. It covers Shane45-1911's opinion and does a few other things.

I think that any one of my larger production folders would meet the requirement. If you made me pick just one it would be my Chris Reeve Small Classic Sebenza... this week ;)!

It would be a close call between my Emerson Commander and Spyderco Military, but think the Commander would be the best choice.

Large regular Sebenza, or a classic for a little more point, would be great. I have a SOCOM Elite clip point which is almost a match for the Sebenza.

Commander is too specialized. Spyderco and Benchmade have a lot of well-made, fine designs, but I don't know about long-term survival in the mud :D

I carry a small classic Sebenza now, though.

I have to wonder, are some of you really serious that if you could have only ONE knife, you would choose a Sebenza?

I have owned one, and they are just not comfortable to use for any serious cutting or for any extended length of time....

Sure, they are great knives, and very high quality, but comfortable they are not.
They make for a pretty good EDC for occasional use, as long as you have something else on hand for lots of cutting and use.
Opening mail, cutting open a package or two, but that's about it, for me at least.

That is just my opinion, and really, noboby is going to be stuck with just ONE knife, so it really does not matter, it's just something to think about, for whatever reason.

At this point in time..........I would have to go with my Spydie Endura VG-10/PS. Although if someone would like to donate a Sebenza to my collection, I would be more than happy to consider it for rotation.:D ;) :D

edited for lack of thought

Alot of good choices. I am certainly glad that I don't have to have only one. It's just interesting to see people's answers. It also gives me an idea of witch knives I might consider for future purpose

Tough question.
My pick is my Spyderco Endura (50/50 VG-10).
This is a large folder, capable of tough jobs yet it does'nt feel bulky or heavy, and it has my favorite opening method--the Spyderco Hole.

Good luck,
Allen.

I think I'd go with my Marble's Fieldcraft... in 52100, of course. (But it would be hard to choose just one:)!)

I've been asked this question many times before by my girlfriend and after much thought it always comes down to my AFCK.

She bought me a 350 Pardue so she may have expected that as my answer but I couldn't lie!! :D
